finally saying i do!

There is no denying that Emma and Charles are high school sweethearts. The two had several mutual friends and even shared several classes. However, the couple continues to disagree as to how their relationship began. According to Charles, he had developed a little crush on Emma during their freshman year Spanish class, and it continued to grow through the years. Whereas Emma claims it was much later in their Senior year when she messaged Charles on Snapchat asking, "you have chickens?". Though they may never agree on how exactly they got together, Emma and Charles certainly agree that they are lucky to have found one another.

Emma and Charles have been informally engaged since January 2020. Charles slipped Emma's promise ring from her right hand to the left during their Norwegian study abroad trip - on a beautiful fjord cruise! This proposal was kept secret from most of the couple's friends and family. But, finally, in August 2023, Charles officially asked Emma to marry him with a sparkly new ring. Charles was already on his knee for their annual pose in the Ishpeming, MI town garden when he pulled out the ring. Emma was not at all surprised and exclaimed "I knew it" before Charles could even pop the question. Of course, her answer was an easy "Yes".
