After meeting each other at several officer meetings for The University of Tennessee’s Christian Veterinary Missions club, their conversations continued well into the summer despite being 800 miles away. As Samuel studied sea turtles along the east coast of Florida, Emma, as part of the same research program, was studying pain medication for dog surgeries. At summer’s end, the 2nd year of veterinary school began and so did their relationship.
