Travel Note
Steamship Authority Woods Hole, MA to Martha’s Vineyard This is the most common and efficient ferry to get to Martha's Vineyard. Once you fly into Boston Logan Airport, you can rent a car or take the Peter Pan Bus to this ferry. As the island’s main lifeline, Steamship Authority is the only ferry service for vehicles and passengers. Leaving from Woods Hole, Massachusetts, it’s a 45 minute trip from dock to dock on a very large ferry boat. The ferry operates daily from 6:00AM until 9:45PM just about every hour. This is the best option by sea for those prone to sea sickness. Reservations are required for vehicles and should be made as soon as possible as availability will be limited. Reservations are not required for passengers and you can get them when you arrive at the terminal. Last shuttle from parking lot leaves ~20 minutes before the ferry departs. You can visit steamshipauthority.com for schedules and to a vehicle reservation. Seastreak New Bedford, MA to Martha’s Vineyard Fast ferry passenger ferry from New Bedford, MA, which is about 30 minutes from Providence 1 hour crossing Smaller, faster boat better for those with sea legs Purchase tickets in advance Visit seastreak.com for schedules and to purchase tickets
