Maid of Honor
Caroline, 22, met the bride in the hospital the day she was born and Emma first held her. The two have been rather inseparable since. Aside from one year of Caroline’s existence, they have always been roommates. As sisters and best friends, they bond over a love for Jesus, shared history, flawlessly singing Hamilton with their previously agreed upon assigned roles, watching tv shows and movies together, unplanned 3-hour conversations that ruin all chances of productivity, and their beautifully different personalities.
Best Man
Pablo Garcia, 31, has had the pleasure of knowing Josue for 5 years, serving together at Woodside. I bring energy, heart, and a sense of humor to any conversation! To me, Josue isn’t just a close friend—he’s a true brother. Our bond is one of the most meaningful constants in my life. Off the clock, you’ll spot us hitting up our favorite Detroit restaurants, dominating game nights, or watching any Detroit sports. One of my greatest joys is participating in medical mission work overseas—combining my love for people and purpose. I've witnessed Josue’s remarkable spiritual growth firsthand and can’t wait to see what God writes next for Josue and Emma.
Matron of Honor
Taylor, 31- Matron of Honor & CSO (Chief Sister Officer): Met the bride in the delivery room and has been training for this day ever since. They share hilarious memories such as their mock WWE wrestling matches (all for fun) in their shared childhood bedroom and taping off each other's sides of said room to keep the other sister in line (there's nothing like being the oldest sibling!) Armed with color-coded spreadsheets and a goofy sense of humor, Taylor is here to keep things organized, sane, and only mildly chaotic.
Groomsman
Kristopher, 43, met the groom at Woodside Bible Church–Detroit, where they served together in men’s ministry, life groups, and young adults. Bonded by faith, Star Wars, Legos, and an endless stream of memes—basically holiness with a side of nerd. Kristopher brings both theological insight and comic relief to the wedding party. He's undoubtedly ready to ensure the groom's big day is filled with both blessings and belly laughs.
Bridesmaid
Lisa, 25, met the bride during their shared time at Wayne State. After mutually deciding they were destined for lifelong best friendship, they were roommates in Midtown for two years and have been long distance besties ever since. They bonded over a shared love for spontaneous adventures, dancing in the rain, and living life extravagantly à la a 2000s Disney sitcom. Lisa can’t wait to bring the energy to the dance floor and bold confidence in assuring the bride has the best possible wedding day.
Groomsman
Chad, age 33, first met Josue at Woodside Bible church and connected over both working at Ford as well as Star Wars and Legos. Over the 4+ years of knowing each other, they have served and attended many church activities together and continue to walk and support each other up for the work of the Lord. Chad brings to the wedding party an avid helping hand and problem solver whenever needed.
Bridesmaid
Elli, 24, re-met the bride at church, (10 years after they were loosely linked through siblings, homeschooling and theater) where a fast friendship formed over their love for Jesus, impromptu road trips, near death experiences, and discovering new things. From countless late-night talks to two months exploring Europe, they’ve been the ultimate travel companions and the kind of duo that makes everything an adventure. Whether navigating cobblestone streets or life’s ups and downs, their friendship has been full of laughter, support, and lots of gelato.
Groomsman
I have known Josue for 3 years, first meeting at church at Woodside, and have had the honor of being his roommate and coworker at Ford. From experiences helping me with my broken down car in sub zero temperatures in northern Michigan, to helping me with my broken down car in Taco Bell at midnight, and everything else in between, our friendship has strengthened, even as my car has not. As a friend and roommate, I have been able to witness the growth of Josue and Emma's relationship grow from friends to forever. I wish them the best and many blessings in their future together.
Bridesmaid
Marilyn, 24, met the bride at Wayne States Student Center, where she was literally the boss- and soon became one of her favorite people. Bonded by our shared loves of musicals, Disney and rom coms, their friendship has been full of laughter and deep talks. She’s been my sister in Christ and hype girl ever since. Marilyn will be the one dancing all night and celebrating her friend with the same joy and energy she brings to every moment.
Groomsman
Josué and Carsten met two years ago when Carsten moved to Detroit. Josué welcomed Carsten into the Woodside Detroit family, and the two have been friends and served together at church since. Carsten and Josué share a passion for Jesus (never lets them down) and Detroit sports (often lets them down).
