Travel Note
Travelling from Central Athens and the Airport
Pireaus Port is most easily reached by 35-50 minute taxi from Athens airport or Central Athens, but is also accessible by public transportation. You can see the metro map and plan your journey at the link below. If travelling from the Airport, take the blue line (3) on the Athens metro to the Pireaus stop (which takes roughly 1 hour). If travelling from Central Athens, take the green line (1) or blue line (3).

Ferries from Pireaus
High-speed ferries depart numerous times throughout the day from 7.30am to 7.30pm and take 30-40minutes. Larger ferries suitable for cars depart a few times a day (up to 4.30pm) and take 1 hour 25 minutes. A comparison website is provided at the link above and we also recommend Ferry Scanner and Ferry Hopper. PLEASE NOTE: We recommend booking your ferry a few weeks before you travel to Greece in the high season, especially if you are keen to get a high-speed ferry or are taking one of the last ferries of the day.
