Yes and no. This event is a celebration of Hunter and Emma's marriage, and is open to family and close friends. However, no formal wedding ceremony will be taking place. Emma and Hunter plan to elope in the Smokies on August 1st, and they look forward to celebrating their recent nuptials with all of y'all!
Hunter and Emma encourage you to wear whatever makes you feel the most confident. Want to get gussied up in a cocktail dress or a checkered suit? Go for it. Prefer to party in a T shirt and sweats? Knock yourself out. There will be a photographer present at this event, so be prepared to be photographed in your attire.
You don't need to bring anything except your lovely self! Please note that this is a non-alcoholic event, so please do not bring any alcoholic beverages with you.
We recognize that while vaccines are becoming widespread and things are beginning to open, COVID-19 is still very much a thing. In order to protect all those in attendance, we ask that guests receive both of their vaccine shots at least 3 weeks prior to August 15th, 2021. Our ceremony will be a gathering of 30 people or less, and much of the event will be happening outside. While many present will not be wearing a mask (per CDC updated guidance), we encourage you to do whatever is most comfortable to you. If you still wish to wear a mask, we support you!
Our "wedding" registry is a little unconventional. Rather than picking out a household item and bringing it with you, we invite you to contribute to one of the charities we have listed on the "Registry" tab of our website. Donating to our registry is certainly not an obligation, and we encourage you to do so only if you have the financial capacity.
We want to keep this event intimate, so please don't bring a guest with you unless they have already received an invitation.
We plan to make this an "unplugged" event--meaning no cell phone use unless you have to take a call--so be prepared to go "sans technology" for a little bit. Don't worry: there will be plenty of event photos and videos taken for posterity!
