Martha’s Vineyard is one of our favorite places in the world, and we can’t wait for you to experience it the way we do. Below is our curated guide to where to eat, drink, and explore — and of course, where to find the best skinny margaritas! Think of it as our personal travel-concierge notes, just for you!
Emma's go-to coffee spot in the mornings, and Grant’s lunchtime favorite thanks to their Katama Chicken Sandwich (he swears it’s the best sandwich he’s ever had). Whether you’re stopping in for breakfast, lunch, or just a caffeine fix, it’s an Edgartown classic.
One of our favorite casual spots in Edgartown, Rosewater Market has the most charming outdoor seating area that feels so classically Vineyard. It’s perfect for a morning coffee or a laid-back lunch — we love their avocado toast and egg sandwiches, and their cookies are truly chef’s kiss. Right in town this is an easy and delicious go-to.
Soigné is our go-to for gourmet sandwiches and delicious premade sides — their French baguette bread is truly to die for. We 10/10 recommend placing an order ahead of time and taking these sandwiches with you for the perfect beach day picnic. Easy, elevated, and so good every single time.
Located right on Edgartown Harbor, Atlantic has one of the best outdoor dining scenes on the island — lively, chic, and perfect for taking in the ocean vibes with a drink in hand. The menu has something for everyone, from fresh seafood to steaks and classic chop house sides. It’s one of our favorite spots for a fun, upscale lunch or dinner that feels both polished and quintessentially Vineyard. By night, the energy turns up with DJs and live bands, making it a great spot for late-night fun.... PSA: if you order the 16 oz milk-fed veal chop Parmesan, be prepared — it might be the biggest thing you’ve ever seen.
Tucked just off Main Street, Behind the Bookstore is one of the most charming spots in Edgartown. It’s perfect for everything from a cozy morning coffee to a leisurely brunch — and even cocktails and dinner. Pro tip: don’t sleep on the skinny margarita at the Hemingway Bar, it’s one of Emma's favorites. The outdoor garden seating has that hidden-gem, European café vibe that makes it feel both special and effortlessly Vineyard.
In my opinion, The Covington is one of the most exceptional dining experiences in Edgartown — a true farm-to-table restaurant. The food is unbelievably fresh, and the vibe is chic, upbeat, and full of energy, yet still relaxing, especially if you’re seated outside. Their cocktails are a 10/10, and you absolutely must start with the bread service, the sweet & spicy cucumbers, and the farm stand salad. For mains, my all-time favorite is the Nova Scotia halibut, while Grant swears by their famous Bolognese. It’s a can’t-miss spot for a special Vineyard dinner.
For us, the Harbor View has the best porch on the entire island. There’s nothing like sitting in the rocking chairs with a cocktail — whether it’s their unbelievable skinny margarita or a Hugo spritz — and taking in the harbor and Edgartown Lighthouse. It’s also an especially meaningful spot, as it’s where we went to celebrate right after getting engaged. Inside, you’ll find their signature restaurant, Bettini, but the real magic is ending a stroll up North Water Street (our favorite street in America) with a drink on the Harbor View porch. It’s the ultimate Vineyard experience.
One of our go-to dinner spots in Edgartown. They don’t take reservations, but the system is simple — just walk up, put your name in, and the wait is usually not too long. While you wait, grab a drink at one of the bars down Main Street. Once seated, you’re in for a treat: their raw bar is unbelievable, featuring oysters from Katama Bay alongside a wide variety of others. Beyond seafood, it also doubles as a steakhouse, so you’ll find incredible cuts of meat and classic steakhouse sides to round out the menu.
My personal favorite beach on the island! Walk on or you can even drive your car right onto the sand with a pass—pack a cooler, grab lunch, and enjoy the ultimate Vineyard summer day!
For a one-of-a-kind Vineyard adventure, take to the skies in a vintage open-cockpit biplane. Soar over the island’s beaches, lighthouses, and harbors for unbeatable views. You can keep it classic with a scenic ride—or, if you’re feeling adventurous, opt for the thrill ride with barrel rolls, flips, and heart-racing maneuvers you’ll never forget.
An iconic island landmark you may recognize from the classic movie Jaws! A must-see for first-time visitors, this spot is pure Vineyard tradition—whether you’re strolling across, taking in the view, going for a swim, or joining the people who jump from the bridge itself.
