Maid of Honor
Katie and Emma have been best friends since they were four and five respectively when they met in Oak Hills Kick and Chase the summer before kindergarten at St. Pius X elementary school. Their friendship has stood the test of time and various long distance relationships--- be it separate middle schools, separate colleges, or a constant flip flopping between who lives on the East or West coast respectively--- they've managed to continuously and spontaneously quote SpongeBob at one another through it all. Katie and Emma are more than best friends, they're sisters, and there is nobody Emma would rather have by her side as her number one on her big day.
Bridesmaid
Candice and Emma met in Berkley when Emma...er....Drew was going to Law School at Cal. Though Drew technically met Candice first, Emma was quick to swoop in and steal Candice as a friend of her own somewhere between the time Drew was taking Torts and Crim Law. Candice and Emma quickly bonded over dank food, manicure dates, and a mutual respect and admiration of each other's dreams and aspirations. Emma and Drew had to duke it out over which side Candice would stand on at the end of the aisle, and Emma is so happy that she won that honor!
Bridesmaid
Catherine and Emma bonded on the gloomy, over cast stoop of London Flat while they were studying abroad at Fordham's London Dramatic Academy. Weather it was exploring cobblestone streets together, listening to obnoxiously moody music, or pretending to be animals and literally eating grass off of a linoleum floor for the sake of their craft, you have never met a pair more instantly suited for friendship. Emma's only regret: that it took her two long years into CUA to find such a dear friend!
Bridesmaid
Jackie and Emma met when Jackie unknowingly agreed to lugging the entirety of Emma's personal belongings from Oregon across campus in their first week at CUA. From there, the rest is history. How can you not bond when you're grunting and sweating while you haul an entire dorm room in a miniscule mail cart across campus in 90 degrees and 80% humidity? Jackie and Emma have enjoyed greatest hit adventures such as waking up at 4am for President Obama's Inauguration, roommates in Seton Hall, Spring Break in Italy, Emma's 21st birthday, and Jackie's DC Ghost Tours. Emma is thrilled to have Jackie on board as one of her ride or dies on the big day.
Bridesmaid
Shelby and Emma met during a production of The Man of La Mancha in San Francisco. Their bond was instant and lasting as they muddled through rehearsals and the run of the production. Equally important, Shelby offered Emma a hand out of a job making her miserable and into the bright and beautiful world of working as a full time teaching artist. Together they've directed and music directed such hits as: Annie! Jr., Alice in Wonderland Jr., Beauty and the Beast Jr. and Frozen Jr., all of which are expected to transfer to THE Broadway very soon. Emma is so thankful to have met Shelby at such a pivotal time in her transition into adulthood, and cannot wait to share this equally important milestone with her as well.
Best Man
Jonathan and Drew met Freshman year at USC while singing in the University Choir. They became better friends Sophomore year, deciding to move in together their Junior year. Though the apartment was hastily constructed (the banister of the main stairwell came off of the wall unprompted about halfway through the year) their friendship rested on a solid foundation of mutual love of theater, domestic and international politics, and good humor. They have been close friends since then, despite Drew's stint in Northern California and life in New York. Jonathan's work keeps him traveling, however, as he is a live television producer frequently working coast-to-coast—often making time to visit Drew wherever he's living (which he very much appreciates!).
Groomsman
Don and Drew met in elementary school. Back then, Don lived on the other side of Walker Road. Don has been Drew's close friend for as long as he can remember. Despite going to different middle and high schools and different universities, Don and Drew have managed to bum around the neighborhood together for over seventeen years. Countless great memories were made at Detroit Lake, swimming and playing music by the fireside. Mirroring their dads, who play in a rock band together, Don and Drew frequently jammed on trumpet and guitar. Drew is lucky enough to also be in Don's wedding party, having the good fortune to get to know Don's bride-to-be Kelsey over the last few years. Don and Drew live far apart now, but every time they see each other it's back to the good old days.
Groomsman
Nick is Drew's older brother! Nick and Drew went to middle school and then high school together, frequently collaborating in the same activities. Nick and Drew were in plays together, performed in an acoustic duo at the high school coffeehouse, and outside of school were in the same boy scout troop. When Drew moved to the Bay Area for law school, he was lucky enough to have his older brother living nearby. Drew got to hang out with his future sister-in-law Jen frequently. Drew, Emma, Nick and Jen spent time together in the East Bay’s great outdoors. Nick and Jen are soon moving to Medford, OR, where Jen will be working at a Veteran's Hospital as a clinical psychologist, and Nick will be flying up and down the country pitching new business on behalf of his engineering company.
Groomsman
Quinn is Drew's younger brother! Quinn and Drew went to high school together, often working on the same theatre production. Quinn had the tough of "dressing" Drew for Singing in the Rain, which involved a lot of shoving Drew into sweaters before shoving him on stage in a matter of seconds. Quinn and Drew were also in the same boy scout troop throughout middle and high school, and often got to go on High Adventure trips together. Between kayaking in Puget Sound, climbing the South Sister, and taking a two- week backpacking trek through New Mexico, Quinn and Drew had lots of quality time together. Last year, Drew had the pleasure of visiting Quinn at Oregon State three times: for family weekend, for a brotherly barbecue, and for Quinn's graduation.
Groomsman
Stephen and Drew met in law school, where they were in the same "mod:" a small group class which serves as homeroom for first-year law students. After having many lengthy discussions about the nature of torts in their beloved SugarMod, Stephen and Drew gradually began to hang out more, discovering their mutual affection for fiercely complicated board games. During the second and third years of law school, Drew spent innumerable leisurely hours at Stephen's dinner parties (he is an excellent cook!), rules-litigating a finer point of board game with Stephen, and taking in the "majesty" of the law. Stephen has since moved to Houston to clerk for a judge at a federal district court. However, Drew and Stephen still correspond regularly, carrying on a friendship from afar.
