RDU is typically where we fly into when coming to Lynchburg as it has the most direct flights (with multiple airlines) into it and is typically the cheapest. It is about a 2 hr 15 min - 2 hr 35 min depending on traffic to Lynchburg.

Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport
Roanoke is very convenient to fly into (mostly on Delta) when coming to Lynchburg as it is only a 50 min drive to Cedar Oaks and about 1 hr to Lynchburg. Flights usually go through Atlanta (not many direct flights) and prices are typically higher.

Flights into LYH are only offered by American via CLT. This is by far the most convenient option to fly into for Lynchburg, but we have experienced issues with this route with delays and lost baggage. We suggest not checking bags and choosing a connection into LYH that gives you more than 1 hr in Charlotte. This gives time for delays so that you don’t get stuck in CLT (3 hr 30 min drive).

Richmond is about 2 hrs away from Lynchburg.
