Maid of Honor
My sister and my go-to person for everything and anything. Growing up, we didn't always get along, but as we got older I realized that sometimes big sisters really do know best. Abby has been by my side throughout all the good times (traveling with our aunts, helping plan my engagement surprise, etc.) and the worst (facing overwhelming grief and hard life changes). She is an amazing artist, photographer, dog-aunt and sitter, and so much more. She is my person.
Matron of Honor
Amy is my cousin. She has cheered me on in everything I have done. Amy kept her eye on Andy and I during our years in Fresno, showing us the best, the coolest, and safest places to shop and hang out. While Amy was dating her now-husband I remember asking them, "Why aren't you guys married already?" Well, as the tables turned, it was Amy's turn to ask that question of Andy and I. Well Amy, it's finally here.
Bridesmaid
I first met Mish in 2017 during our first year of graduate school. Mish and I somehow always ended up in groups together so we spent lots of time talking and hanging out. She is by far one of the smartest and wittiest women I know. I'm not sure I would have made it through grad school without Mish's organization, optimism and support. Mish and her fiancé, Nick have seen Andy and I through the worst, so we are honored to have them both stand with us on this very happy day.
Bridesmaid
Raveena and I met during our first year in grad school, in 2017. Our preferred choice of seating, in the back of the class, led to an instant familiarity and friendship. Although Raveena and I often exchanged iMessages during class, we somehow kept each other on task. After we discussed our love of wine, pesto pasta, and Lord of the Rings, I knew immediately that Raveena was a soul sister for life.
Mother of the Bride
My mom has been my everything since the day she brought me home. She has shaped me into the person I am today. Her love, support, and encouragement keeps me thriving. When Andy asked for my hand, she said “of course, you don’t need my permission.” Nonetheless, I am so grateful and happy to have my mom’s blessing and permission but I’m even more excited to have her walk me down the aisle on the happiest day of my life.
Flower Girl
Our baby girl is the goofiest, sweetest love. We are so happy that she is ours. After Charlie's very sudden death, we thought our hearts would remain broken forever but Cora mended our hearts. Cora will be walking down the aisle alongside our Ring Bearer. She will be wearing Charlie's collar, to honor our baby boy and carry his presence with us into this next chapter of our lives.
Ring Bearer
Trevor is my cousin, Amy's son. He is the funniest and coolest kid you will ever meet. He is an animal enthusiast, a skilled hunter, and an awesome athlete. He was only a toddler when Andy and I started dating and thus he has grown up along with our relationship. Trevor is a responsible animal lover, so we wouldn’t trust anyone else to carry our rings and walk with Cora.
Best Man/ Officiant
My longest-lasting friendship, Jason was one of my first friends when we moved to California. Growing up, we lived just half a mile from each other, so we were always together. Roomed together on our 8th grade D.C. trip. Caused chaos if we were ever in the same classroom. Integral members of our High School death metal band, Rebel Riot. Jason now lives in Sacramento, and we don't get to see each other as much as we'd like. Months can pass between visits, but we always pick up where we left off. Only seems fitting that he stand up with me on my biggest day.
Best Man
At some point during High School, Justin went from being my best friend's brother to being my own brother. Just two years younger than me and Jason, Justin was usually present at anything we were doing. From backyard wrestling to trips to the Dean family cabin, it's always a blast when we're all together. When Jason moved away to Sacramento, Justin became my main Dean. I'll always cherish the candid talks we have on those long drives to Sacramento, or inbetween sets at the gym. Justin has a huge heart and is one of the kindest souls I know.
Groomsman
At the first party for Emma's grad school cohort, I met my man, Nick. We instantly hit it off with our love of Fantasy Football. Then he moved away to London for a year.. but we stayed in touch and when he came back to California, it was like he never left. With his fiance, Mish, the four of us go on the most exciting adventures. Nick has been such a loyal friend in the few years we've known each other.
Groomsman
I've known Michael forever. My cousin from my mom's side, we've literally grown up together. We've always had similar interests even as we've gotten older. Always took opportunities to hang out, despite living thousands of miles away. Our days of playing video games in the basement have evolved into brews downtown and bikes on the coast.
Usher
We have known Vahram since we started dating. As my sister’s boyfriend, we have spent a lot of time together. He is one of our most trustworthy and helpful friends. Like my sister, we know we can count on Vahram for just about anything. He has been an integral part of the entire engagement process from the proposal to the parties. We’re grateful to have his assistance on our wedding day.
