Travel Note
The closest airport to Ouray is Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ). It’s small, easy to navigate, and is just 40 minutes away from Ouray. There are multiple daily flights from Denver International Airport (DEN) to Montrose on United and Southwest, with a flight time of just under an hour. In the summer, there are also seasonal direct flights from cities like Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, and Chicago, making it convenient for guests traveling from out of state. (All operated on full-size commercial planes — no small jets or propeller planes!) The Montrose Airport offers several on-site rental car options. For those who’d rather not rent a car, Telluride Express and other local shuttle services run regularly between Montrose and Ouray. Another option is to fly into Denver International Airport and make the scenic 6-hour drive southwest through mountain passes and historic Colorado towns (perfect if you want to turn the weekend into a little adventure)! Once you’re in Ouray, everything’s close — hotels, shops, and restaurants are all within walking distance. If you'd prefer not to walk, Ouray offers an in-town shuttle service.
