Things To Do

Flying Saucer Draught Emporium

328 West Morgan Street, Raleigh, NC 27601

Ask anyone, even the bartenders -- we spend too much time here. They have hundreds of craft beers, whether you prefer tap, bottle, or can (tap is the right answer), and circulate local and nationwide breweries. There's usually some kind of special, and solid bar food. If you go, try to find our plates on the wall. We worked hard for those.

Parkside Restaurant

301 West Martin Street, Raleigh, NC 27601

Or as Todd calls it, "Restaurant" for the giant neon sign that wraps around the corner. A great spot for brunch, lunch, or dinner, and includes sandwiches and Southern classics. It's a great spot for a meal that feels home-cooked.

Bond Brothers Beer Company

202 East Cedar Street, Cary, NC 27511

If you're staying closer to Cary, this is a great choice for a brewery visit. Indoor/outdoor space, a variety of quality beers, and proximity to Downtown Cary. Walk around our town and stop in for a drink!

Trophy Brewing & Pizza

827 West Morgan Street, Raleigh, NC 27603

Another great local brewery. Our favorites are "Cloud Surfer" Hazy IPA, "Milky Way" Stout, and "Trophy Wife" Session IPA. This location is also an amazing pizza spot with both classic and artisanal toppings. There's another location on Maywood Ave. that does not serve food but frequently has a food truck parked outside.

FOUNDATION

213 Fayetteville Street, Raleigh, NC 27601

For our friends who prefer cocktails to beer. You might not notice Foundation at first because the bar is located below street level. It's one of our favorite spots for its incredibly knowledgable bartenders and truly unique craft cocktails. If you'd rather play it safe, they make a great Old Fashioned.

Bittersweet

16 East Martin Street, Raleigh, NC 27601

Another great cocktail bar. They specialize in gin but have a wide range of options. More importantly, they have a dessert menu featuring a chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich rolled in bourbon caramel corn that Emily will happily tell you all about.
