In college, Emily and her friends attended weekly trivia across the street from their apartment. They continued after graduation, inviting new friends they met along the way. Those new friends brought their friends, who brought their friends, and so on and so forth until someone finally roped Todd in. Through that trivia team, Todd and Emily got to know one another and decided they were more than just friends. On their first date, the check arrived with a post card. When Todd next had to travel for work, Emily asked him to bring back a post card from his trip. Since then, Emily has collected a binder full of post cards from Todd's travels. Over the next five years, the pair welcomed a cat, Calvin, and a dog, Mitzy into their family. They have traveled to football stadiums and visited friends around the country. Todd and Emily enjoy going to the movies together, playing video and card games, and discovering breweries. Todd proposed at sunset on May 4, 2024 at Dead Horse Point in Utah.
