Arches National Park

This is one of our favorite parks we've visited. Get there early, sometimes there's a line to get in. If you have time, hike to Delicate Arch, it's well worth it. It's not the easiest, especially with the elevation. Give yourself 3 hours to do it. (Round trip with time for photos at the top). Bring PLENTY of water!

Canyonlands National Park

This park is ridiculously beautiful.

Needle Rock Brewing Company

Brewery with good food and good beer. The owners also own/live at our wedding venue!

Horsefly Brewing Company

Another good brewery.

Colorado National Monument

Beautiful scenic drive and hiking.

Box Canyon Falls Park

Waterfall and canyon, some hiking and walking trails.

Orvis Hot Springs

Pioneer Town

Lots and lots of local history and exhibits.

Red Mountain Pass

Otherwise known as the "million dollar highway." Hair raising, but absolutely gorgeous drive.

Good beers and good views.

Mesa Verde National Park

Pretty amazing national park. May require an overnight.

Durango Silverton Train Museum

Take the narrow guage railway to scenic Silverton. You need at least a full day for this.

Ute Indian Museum

Newly renovated and very nice. Powerful exhibits and local history.

Lake Powell

Beautiful red rock lake. Camp out here, the water is SO warm, late into the year too.

Crested Butte

Beautiful mountain town. Lots of good food and shopping.

Kebler Pass

Scenic drive all times of the year but breath taking in the fall. The 2nd largest grove of Aspen trees in the world. Bring your camera and a lunch/snack!

Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve

Very scenic National Park. Watch a meteor shower here if you can!

Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area

Scenic, easy hiking in the canyons. Pretty flat, bring plenty of water!

Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area

Beautiful hiking, somewhat hilly.

Grand Mesa Lodge

Great hiking, Crag's Crest Trail is long (10 miles) but worth it! Bring bug spray.

Paonia

Funky town with good localvore food and beer.

Big B's Fabulous Juice's

Great local products shop with fruit, wine, cider and other Colorado goods. Nice outdoor space and a snack bar for lunch. Pick your own fruit, the peaches will knock you off your feet!

Blue Mesa Reservoir

Beautiful lake, chilly for swimming but gorgeous scenery.

Beautiful mountain town, lots of shopping and good. Scenic hikes nearby.

One of our favorite places, very pretty. Drive with 4x4 or hike. Challenging hike with the elevation.

Great outdoor space for relaxing or enjoying a glass, large farm shop, lots of wine selections FREE tastings.

Such nice winery owners! Yummy french-inspired wines.

Very good wines, scenic vineyards, nice tasting room. FREE tastings.

Local brew spot. Dirty Hippie with an orange slice is Emily's go-to.

Our go-to Mexican place.

Some of the best sushi we've ever had. Try the Scooby Snack roll.

Our favorite Thai place. The yellow curry with Tofu is Emily's favorite.

Egyptian Theatre Delta

Historic theater, 1 of only 6 in the country.

Silverton

One of the most scenic spots we've been to. This is where we like to go jeeping and where we spend the 4th of July each year. Lots of cool old Western buildings and the train comes in here daily. Scenic drive to get there.

Canyon Visitor Center

Lots of fossils and active dig sites.

Taco Hut

Good, simple Mexican. Cheap.

Daveto's Italian Restaurant

Western Italian, try the meatball cannoli.

Dead Horse Point State Park

Scenic, can be added on to Arches or Canyonlands day if you have an hour or 2.
