Back in 2017 Emily moved to Chicago with her college roommate and friend, Kellie. Emily, Kellie, and Kellie's now husband, Matt, took advantage of dollar dog nights at White Sox games and cheap seats. One iconic night when the Cleveland Indians played the Sox, the crew went with Steve and spent the night laughing and egging on the players (and got a ball from their favorite, Yoan). Emily and Steve felt a spark but continued for the next few years as friends and saw each other at various events with their mutual friends. Eventually, at Matt and Kellie's wedding, where Emily was a bridesmaid and Steve was best man, they each put their feelings out towards each other and exchanged phone numbers. The following week they went on their first date and have been inseparable ever since!
