How We Met

6.8.15

It all started one day at summer camp.... We met on the first day of my new summer job where I quickly found out that Scott was my boss. I have never been one to follow rules and one Friday evening I mustered up the courage to send him a message. Where we quickly became interested in each other and began to talk and hang out with our work friends.

Our First Date

6.20.15

The two of us went to Sprague's Brew Works for a couple drinks. It was a perfect night where we were able to stand on the patio and watch the sunset. I would be willing to argue that I knew on our first date that I was going to marry him. I can remember calling Gabby while she was in Texas and first yelling at her for being away at such an important moment like this, and then saying to her, "yup, Emily Stratton sounds really good". Scott probably took a bit more convincing. After only talking to him for 10 days, I hopped on a small plane, all by myself and flew down to meet him and his entire family while on vacation at Long Beach Island. From there it has all been history.

Our Proposal

9.29.18

In my book, this was a LONG TIME coming! We had planned a long weekend in the greatest city of all times, Pittsburgh, for my birthday celebration. Our plan was for me to show Scott all the amazing places there are in Pittsburgh and to catch up with friends. On Saturday morning we had planned to meet up with a close friend, Lauren, at the top of Mount Washington for brunch. Scott had been driving me crazy earlier that morning because continued to tell me that he wanted to go see the "waterfalls" that did not exists in the city of Pittsburgh (I later learned he met The Point water fountain, but that's a story for another day). We decided to take the incline up since Scott had never been on the incline and it is such a riveting experience. When we got to top and found Lauren we started to head to brunch, stopping at the overlook in order for me to give a very persuasive speech on why he should love everything Pittsburgh. But instead of my daily banter, Scott decided to shake things up and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course, I immediately started yelling "FINALLY"! From that day on, Scott has loved all things Pittsburgh (but don't tell him I said that).

I Do

8.8.20

Our wedding is going to be held at the beautiful Iron Mills Farmstead. On this day we will be surrounded by our closest family and friends. We are so blessed to be loved by so many people. We can't wait to celebrate!
