Things To Do

From bike trails to breweries to scenic vineyards and historic attractions, there are lots of things to do and sights to see in Loudoun County Virginia and the nearby vicinity. Here are a few ideas.

One Loudoun

20626 Easthampton Plaza, Ashburn, VA 20147
, (703) 636-2297

Just steps outside the Tru by Hilton hotel is this collection of shops, restaurants and entertainment venues. Here you’ll have a choice of dining at more than 20-plus restaurants and shopping at nearly 30 trendy boutiques and stores.

Breweries

With 30-plus breweries and counting, Loudoun County is one of the most vibrant craft beer destinations in the U.S. You can hit the LoCo Ale Trail connecting the urban breweries of Sterling, Ashburn and Leesburg in eastern Loudoun County, as well as visit tap rooms and beerhalls nestled among the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Wineries

Loudoun County has more than 40 wineries and tasting rooms. Among our favorites are Stone Tower Winery, in nearby Leesburg and Otium Cellars, located across the road from the wedding venue Tranquility Farm.

Historic Attractions

Loudoun County and the broader Washington, DC, area are known for their rich history. The U.S. Capitol and the national monuments are a hour-long drive by car from Loudoun County. Other near-by sites are Harpers Ferry, WV, a 40-minute drive from the Tru by Hilton hotel that features a Civil War Museum, as well as a lookout point at Harpers Ferry National Historic Park that offers views of Virginia and Maryland. Antietam and Manassas National Battlefield Parks are both an hour-drive from the hotel.

Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum

14390 Air and Space Museum Parkway, Chantilly, VA 20151

If you’re an aviation or space geek, then you’ll want to visit the National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. Located near Washington Dulles International Airport, this must-see museum has nearly 200 aircraft on display, including an Air France Concorde, the largest collections of Japanese and German World War II aircraft in the world, helicopters, commercial and private airplanes, plus a collection of space artifacts, including the Space Shuttle Discovery, the Apollo 11 Mobile Quarantine Facility, space suits, rockets, satellites, and space toys just to mention a few things.
