Emily and Sammy somehow spent two years in the Lehigh Valley, Emily at Lafayette and Sammy at Lehigh, without ever meeting. It wasn’t until the summer of 2023, thanks to mutual friends and a country bar in Hoboken, that their paths finally crossed. Sammy wasted no time introducing himself and had Emily’s number within the first 20 minutes. He was immediately drawn to her energy (and enthusiasm for a good beer), while Emily admired Sammy’s confidence and smile. By the next morning, a text asking for a formal date made things official. From there, things moved quickly in the best way. City adventures followed, where Emily made it very clear that “the City” means NYC, not Philly. Cheesesteak pilgrimages became routine, and Sammy successfully converted Emily into an Eagles fan. Travel soon became a big part of their relationship, with international trips full of snowboarding, sightseeing, and trying new foods. On one of their early dates, Emily saw her first shooting star and took it as a sign that something special was beginning. Along the way, they discovered just how well they fit together. They are both romantics at heart, big Apple Music people, and love staying active. Sammy even agreed to run with Emily from the beginning, which did not go unnoticed. Hoboken became home, but the city was calling and they are loving this new chapter together in Chelsea. They still cannot agree on whether it is Le-Laf or Laf-Le, and likely never will. Sammy’s warmth, goofy energy, and deep sincerity are beautifully balanced with Emily’s thoughtfulness, humor, and perspective. They both put their hearts into everything they do. On November 16, 2025, Sammy got down on one knee in Hoboken and asked Emily to marry him, completely catching her by surprise. They are so excited to begin this next chapter together and cannot wait to celebrate their love with family and friends on November 14, 2026.
