As a college town, Fayetteville has two entertainment and food districts: Dickson Street and Fayetteville Square. If you're in the mood to bar hop and enjoy some SEC culture, we suggest walking Dickson and stopping by Kingfish, Sideways, Farrell's, Cannibal and Craft, or catching live music at George's Majestic. Just a ten minute walk south from Dickson, and you're at Fayetteville Square! You'll be visiting during Fayetteville's annual Light of the Ozarks, and our favorite restaurants and bars are located in this district. We recommend Maxine's Tap Room (our first date!) or Pinpoint for cocktails. For food, Tula, Atlas, and the Cheers at OPO are amazing. Also, as the weather will be pretty great that weekend, the two districts allow open container beverages for drinks bought at local establishments. We have reserved a room block at The Graduate hotel which is located right off of the square. Please check out the Room Blocks tab for information on rate and how to make a reservation.
This museum is one of our favorite date spots! The mission of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art was founded by philanthropist and arts patron Alice Walton, Crystal Bridges is a public non-profit charitable organization. The museum has free admission for its main gallery. Frank Lloyd Wright's Bachman-Wilson House has also been relocated to the property and hosts free self-guided tours. Crystal Bridges takes its name from a nearby natural spring and the bridge construction incorporated in the building, designed by world-renowned architect Moshe Safdie. Guest amenities include a restaurant (Eleven) and Coffee Bar on a glass-enclosed bridge overlooking the ponds, a Museum Store designed by architect Marlon Blackwell, and a library featuring more than 50,000 volumes of art reference material. Five miles of sculpture and walking trails link the museum’s 120-acre park to downtown Bentonville, Arkansas.
NWA is known for great breweries! We've listed our favorites below! New Province (we love their IPA: The Philosopher King) Fossil Cove Crisis Brewery (great ambiance!) Ozark Columbus House Bentonville Brewing (delicious food trucks!)
Welcome to the Ozark Mountains and the Buffalo National River! For our outdoorsy friends, November in NWA is the best time to hike and see the autumn foliage. We've listed our favorite hikes below. Although our wedding falls outside of float season, there are plenty of hiking trails and gorgeous areas to check out. The trails are located about 60-90 minutes from town, and you will need to rent a car, preferably an SUV, but it's worth it! These are our favorite hikes (all trail maps are available on Google): Hawksbill Crag (the most photographed spot in Arkansas!); the GOAT Trail (Emily's favorite!); Lost Valley; Glory Hall Falls (that is not a typo friends); and Indian Creek. We also suggest visiting funky Eureka Springs if you’re already out that way!
For our friends who love to bike, this trail is for you! The Razorback Regional Greenway is a 37.5-mile, primarily off-road, shared-use trail that extends from south Fayetteville to the city of Bella Vista. The trail links together dozens of popular community destinations. Check out the website and rent a bike while you're here! There are countless bars and restaurants along the greenway. We suggest Arsaga's at the Mill and Nomad's at Trailside. A bike ride and brunch is a truly NWA experience!
The Momentary is in a decommissioned cheese factory turned contemporary art space for visual and performing arts, culinary experiences, festivals, artists-in-residence, and more. We love catching the sunset over cocktails at the museum's Tower Bar! Located in downtown Bentonville, Arkansas, satellite to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, the Momentary is the perfect hang-out. From exploring the galleries and outdoor artworks, to catching a performance, to enjoying a savory bite or refreshing drink, there’s something for everyone to discover. General admission is free.
