Mehndi Ceremony

Our wedding consists of two ceremonies. The first day, Friday November 25th, is the Mehndi party. This ceremony is also known as the Henna party where people wear colorful, traditional Pakistani outfits. During the Mendhi ceremony, we will be sitting on a love seat and guests will approach us, place henna on our hands, feed us a piece of fruit or a sweet, and give $1 or $5 to bless us. We will later give the money to a charity. Many of Salman's relatives including his sister and cousins will be presenting choreographed Pakistani dances. All are welcomed to participate in dancing, blessing us, and eating delicious food! Please read the FAQs tab for more information about the Mehndi.

Wedding Vows and Nikah

We are excited to host you for our cross-cultural wedding ceremony! Sassafras Winery has lots of space with yard games. We will also host an hors d'oeuvres hour (2-3pm), ceremony (3-4pm), buffet dinner (4:30pm), and after-party (8pm-midnight). The ceremony will consist of exchanging vows and the Nikah, a traditional Muslim wedding ceremony. Note: Please visit our FAQs tab for more information, but we will host an open bar from 8pm - midnight, with beer and wine. However, never fear! We have two locations at the venue where we can store liquor and sneak off for toasts throughout the day! Pack a flask too!
