Wedding Party

Isaiah Kilgas

Best Man

Isaiah is my sister-in-law's brother. We met in college and grew especially close during the Covid-19 pandemic, being some of the few people left on CUW’s campus. We really bonded after that experience. You can always catch us playing disc golf together, as we both really enjoy the hobby.

Sarah Cherington

Maid of Honor

Sarah is my younger sister and Maid of Honor! She just graduated from Texas A&M this spring and is heading to UTMB in the fall for Occupational Therapy. Growing up Sarah and I were like twins; we even chose to share a room together! It was like having a built-in best friend, I have truly enjoyed being home and going to Aggie basketball and football games with my sister to see the crazy cult—I mean school—she is part of.

Silas Hasselbrook

Groomsman

Silas is my oldest brother. We often bonded together through life as we went to high school, college, and seminary at the same time. I have many fond memories of running track with him, and he has been a source of theological and practical wisdom/advice for me. Silas is currently a Pastor in Milwaukee, pursuing his PhD at Marquette, and adjunct teaching at CUW.

Kathryn (Cherington) Anguiano

Matron of Honor

Katie is my older sister and Matron of Honor! She, her husband, and two dogs, Matilda and Benji live in southeast Texas, and I enjoy visiting them in the boondocks. I think my favorite memory is when Katie, my aunt, and cousin all flew to Chicago for my 21st birthday, and took me out for an entire weekend. It was truly a trip to remember; or well, as much as I can remember.

Athanasius Hasselbrook

Groomsman

Athanasius is my second oldest brother. We also went to high school and college together. I have many fond memories of filming videos with him in college and running track with him too. I’ve got to see so much of Milwaukee and Chicago because of his adventurous spirit. Athanasius is currently working as a Hospital Pharmacist in the Chicago area.

Aislinn Bohot

Bridesmaid

Aislinn and I met in Pre-K and became fast friends. We reunited in high school, where we participated in band and theatre together. It seems our friendship is written in the stars, as we ended up being coworkers after graduating from college. Since then, we have spent many nights lesson planning, wedding planning, and living rent free with our parents. Thank goodness we’re only fifteen minutes apart—our parents need a break from time to time!

Cyprian Hasselbrook

Groomsman

Cyprian is the fifth oldest in the family. He graduated from CUW in May of 2025 with an accounting degree. He is the jokester of the family and is the source of a lot of laughter and joy whenever I am around him. He will be moving to Chicago for a job this summer.

Madeline Stephens

Bridesmaid

Madeline is one of my childhood friends. I have many fond memories of us growing up at Our Savior Lutheran together playing every sport, getting confirmed, and graduating. We even started our own Rainbow Loom Etsy shop one time, if you can remember that throwback. Madeline is currently working as a paralegal in Houston, and it has been a blast to get together now that we are in the same city!

Simeon Hasselbrook

Groomsman

Simeon is the sixth Oldest in the family. He is currently attending the University of Iowa and pursuing pre-law. He is a hard worker and has some great rhetorical skills. Simeon is someone you can rely on when you need help.

Isabelle Hefele

Bridesmaid

Izzy and I are college besties! We went through CUC’s education program together. We can proudly say that our girls’ trip made it out of the group chat! This past summer we went to Nashville, where Izzy’s favorite show was filmed and spent time touring the city, eating lots of good food, and hiking. We were such ambitious girls that we hiked 12 miles in 5 hrs and still made it through a full night out of the town.

Chrysostom Hasselbrook

Groomsman

Chrysostom is number seven in the lineup of siblings. He has lots of energy and is very competitive when it comes to sports, especially soccer. I used to have to watch him when he was younger and can remember quite vividly holding him as a baby, being nine years older than him.

Hope Muehler

Bridesmaid

Hope is my history bestie. She and I spent a many classes together at CUC both in the education and history. She and I would often spend lates nights writing papers and then convince ourselves we needed a late night snack, if we got thought the next assignment! I have many fond memories of us texting late at night asking if the other understood the assignment or if we were up for a late night snack run. She is the best listener and a true sweetheart.

Nathan Raskin

Groomsman

Nate and I met in college at CUW in the pre-seminary program. We had many all-nighter movie nights and would frequent a bar called Sir James together. We were virtually inseparable my sophomore year of college. I even lived in his mother’s basement for a couple of weeks during the summer. I had the honor of being a groomsman at his wedding last year.

Abigail (Dare) Kies

Bridesmaid

Abby is my bestie from camp! We worked all summer at a NLOMA camp in Henning, Minnesota and the camp was located on an island. Abby went off to CUW and I went back to CUC, and since we were only and hour apart we had plenty of time together being in the Midwest. My favorite camp memory with Abby is taking a paddle boat out on the water on a break and paddle with the wind on the way out, and you guessed it paddling against the wind all the way back. And yes, it took us a long, long time.

Moira (Kilgas) Hasselbrook

Something Blue

The first time Preus met Moira was when she was helping him and his brother Silas (her now husband) move into CUW. The first conversation Preus had with her was in the elevator, where he was awkward and struggled to make conversation. Since that day though, Moira has become the older sister he never had, and she has provided him with many great times and conversations. Nothing brings Preus more joy than seeing his future wife and Moira talking together and having a good time. They are some of the most important women in Preus’ life, and he is so happy that Moira will be a part of his and Emily’s special day as Emily's Something Blue.

Jackie (DeWerff) Kilgas

Something Blue

Jackie is one of the most kindhearted, caring persons you will ever meet. Preus remembers all the times he stayed with Jackie and his best man (Jackie's husband), Isaiah, and the wonderful hospitality she showed him. When Preus first started teaching 7th Grade Religion at MLC for vicarage, before he met Emily, Jackie graciously talked him through possible ways to teach and run a classroom, as she had been teaching for a couple of years at that point. It brings Preus lots of joy to see Emily and Jackie talk about teaching and getting to spend time together. They are two wonderful teachers, and he is so glad that she will be joining him and Emily on their special day as Emily’s Something Blue.
