The historic home of Katharine Smith and RJ Reynolds features original furniture, a small but very mighty collection of American art and beautiful gardens. Don't miss Dough-Joe's Doughnuts & Coffee.
NCMA Winston-Salem (formerly SECCA)
You'll see the billboards, but *the* state museum of art is in Winston-Salem!

Our favorite restaurant! Open for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.
Acadia Foods
Our other favorite restaurant! This is a casual cafe serves breakfast, lunch and coffee and caters to everyone - lots of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options (but not exclusively!)
Little Pep
EXCEPTIONAL wine bar with fantastic snacks and seasonal stuff. Cute shop in the front with lots of interesting bottles, imported food and great gifts. Not really a bring-your-kids place.
Mojito Latin Soul Food
Fantastic Cuban food downtown with a great patio.
Camino Bakery
Coffee shop that serves excellent pastries, savory breakfast items and beer and wine.
Bobby Boy Bakeshop
Award-winning French-style bakery with fantastic croissants. Phil and I recently went to the new location on Poplar Street, which is closer to downtown W-S than the original location on Reynolda Road.
Incendiary Brewing Company
Great for indoor/outdoor hanging, and able to accommodate large groups. You can order pizza from Cugino Forno next door and bring it to the brewery.
Honky Tonk Smokehouse
Our favorite BBQ in the city; it's in a strip mall by Hanes Mall Blvd. Highly recommend you get an order of wings.
Los Juanes Inc
Authentic and delicious Mexican by Hanes Mall Blvd - we went on several of our first Winston-Salem dates here.
Intown Donutz & Boba Tea
If you've had your Krispy Kreme fill, we highly recommend you check out these classic, perfect diner-style donuts by Hanes Mall Blvd.
McKay's Winston-Salem
Besides the Goodwill (of which there is an EXCELLENT one on Jonestown Road), this is our favorite store to browse - an emporium of used books, records and collectibles.
