Cities & Sites

Monteriggioni is 60 minutes by car from Florence and 20 minutes by car from Siena. Both Siena and Florence are phenomenal Tuscan cities with UNESCO world heritage sites, first-class dining, and numerous hotels. We are kindly asking our guests to book accommodations in or near Siena. The welcome reception will take place in Siena on Saturday.

Florence

You can fly into the Florence Airport ("FLR") just outside the city, known to locals as "Peretola". From there you can rent a car or shuttle service and drive the 60 - 75 minutes to Monteriggioni & Siena or take the train from Florence to Siena. There is a direct train between Florence and Siena that takes 90 minutes.

Rome

You can fly into Rome International Airport, also named Leonardo da Vinci International Airport in Fiumicino (FCO). Rome is between a 2-hour and 30-minute to 3-hour drive to Siena, Italy. You can also take the train via regional transfer for a total time of 4hrs or the train to Florence then cab to Siena for 2 hours. We recommend renting a car should you choose to make this drive over flying or commuting via rail.

Milan

You can fly into Milan International Airport. It is a 2-hour train to Florence, Italy. From there, you may then take a cab or train to Siena from Florence. We recommend renting a car should you choose to make this drive from Milan to Siena over commuting via rail. Guests flying from New York may find more affordable flights and award travel flying into Milan over Rome. Emirates Business Class, for example, is currently 72,500 pts one way JFK to Milan vs. over 250,000 pts to fly NYC to Rome on United business class.

Siena has many boutique hotels and Airbnb options. We recommend staying close to the city center to avoid renting a car. Guests are welcome to look at booking villas in the countryside but if you do so, please know we will not be providing transportation from your villas to the wedding venue or the welcome reception.
