Emily's best friend, otherwise known as her "sunflower". A bonded pair since their early high school days at Bishop Fenwick. From writing letters to their future husbands after teenage heartbreaks all the way to their college days, engagements, and now weddings - they've been through all the good and all the bad together over these last 10+ years. Emily truly couldn't picture life without Renée in it. Renée is an incredible friend, graphic designer, and life partner to her high-school sweetheart, Steve. She loves Mama Mia, dropping it low (like, real low), and a good rosé. Ren is truly beautiful inside and out and we are overjoyed that you will all get to meet her at the wedding. I love you more than words could express, sunflower!
Arbaaz Khan
Best Man
Arbaaz is Nick's best friend. They met at Umass Dartmouth in the Medical Lab Science Program and have shared the ups and downs of life together since. Arbaaz is an incredibly hard worker and has been a source of unwavering support for both Emily and Nick over the past few years. Emily frequently "third-wheels" with Arbaaz and Nick. The trio has shared countless road trips, adventures, and self-led food tours together. They truly can't imagine their life without Arbaaz in it - so much so that the spare bedroom at Emily and Nick's apartment is unofficially Arbaaz's room. We love you Arbaaz - it's incredibly difficult to state just how special you are to us. Our lives (and weekends) wouldn’t be the same without you.
Christina Broughton
Bridesmaid
Christina is Nick's older sister, whom has been by his side since day 1. She is independent, strong-willed, confident, and happens to be a fabulous dancer who will likely be showcasing her moves all night at our wedding. She has been a source of endless support for us over the years and we are honored to have her stand beside us on our wedding day. We love you, Christina!
Jacob Bettencourt
Groomsman
Emily's younger brother, Jake, is a huge fan of O'Douls and old trucks that are really expensive to fix. He keeps us laughing and we couldn't imagine our special day without him there. Oh, and he may or may not be wearing a homemade duck-tape suit on our wedding day....
Sarah Broughton
Bridesmaid
Sarah is Nick's younger sister and Emily's favorite "errand-running", "Grey's Anatomy-watching" sidekick. Even though Nick and Sarah are almost 8 years apart, those two could be twins. She loves to create beautiful drawings and paintings and has spent years making her loved ones cards for all occasions. Emily still remembers receiving her first "Sarah card" when Sarah was in the 5th grade. She is currently attending Umass Lowell and is a future member of the nursing field getting ready to change the world. Sarah, you've become a strong, well-spoken, down-to-earth young woman right in front of our eyes. We are so proud of you and honored to have you standing beside us on our wedding day. We love you, Sarah girl.
Sam King
Bridesmaid
Emily and Sam met at Magical Beginnings preschool and became an inseparable pair. Unfortunately, they ended up attending different elementary schools and lost touch. The pair reconnected as early teens and it was like no time was lost. They went on to share their teen years together - listening to Eminem on repeat, going for walks to the corner store, religiously attending 7/11 slurpee day, injuring one another while trying to get in shape for field hockey season, and having sleepovers. Living a street over from each other meant that they were very rarely apart. There is an immense amount of inside jokes between these two - they could laugh for hours together. Despite how much time passes between their hangout sessions, the relationship never seems to change. Sam and Emily will always be a part of one another. Sam has taught Emily a good deal about bravery and being yourself over the years. She is the best horse and dog mom. She is brave, feisty, and loving all in one. There is no one else in the world like Sam. I love you, Sammy.
Maria Victoria
Flower Girl
Maria is Emily's cousin (aka "lovebug"). Maria was born when Emily was 17 years old - a day happily engraved in Emily's mind forever. These two have developed an inseperable bond over the years. Maria is one of the smartest, most empathetic little ladies to exist. Both Emily and Maria were named after their Vovo, Maria Bettencourt. Maria's middle name was inspired by the town in which their Vovo lives in Graciosa, Açores. Thank you for being our flower girl, Maria. We love you always!
