1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
During Ganesh Pooja, Lord Ganesh is invited to the wedding to officiate (sthapan), bless the ceremonies, and to ward off evil. The families will seek blessings for the mandap, which represents the sacred space or temple in which the wedding takes place. During Haldi, a paste of sandalwood, turmeric, saffron and rose water is applied to the bride and groom by the women in the families to improve their complexion, give them a healthy glow and supple skin. Light fare and drinks will be served.
6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Members of both families and friends meet, eat, drink and dance together on the night before the wedding. Garba is danced while clapping hands, both usually in a circle involving everyone. Buffet dinner and drinks will be served.
2:00 pm
Baraat (the groom's wedding processional) occurs just before the ceremony as the groom, alongside his family and friends, walk towards the ceremony entrance with dance and music. Light fare and drinks will be provided.
2:30 pm
The ceremony will last approximately an hour, followed by pictures and tea and cookies prior to the cocktail hour.
4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Appetizers and drinks will be provided.
6:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Buffet dinner and drinks to be served.
