Mike and Emily met in February of 2016. Fate led them both to aimlessly scroll on a *very romantic* website, called Tinder. Luckily for Mike, Emily had recently ran out of potential matches and thus upped her allowed age for young males to 27. Emily, being 22 at the time felt that this was quite a stretch. But alas, she swiped to Michael's profile. He looked sweet.. had a lovely smile and so, she swiped right. Mike was first to reach out with the message, "Hello Jupiter, I love you." which led to them having their first date. They met at Shangri La on East 6th Street in downtown Austin. Mike obviously was deeply wooed by Emily's charm & good looks. She was a dancer, after all. He read her some poems, and she shared some videos of her dancing. They explored the street hitting up Hotel Vegas for their Monday night residency show (where Emily would later spend lots of time performing with TC Superstar) and explored random bars along the way. Emily wrapped her arm around Mike, thinking about how he was so "manly" at the ripe age of 27, and Mike seemed just as interested. In fact, he pushed her into the grass and they shared their first kiss. Since then, they've shared all of the ups and downs that come with growing into your adult self. Mike spent many years fully committed to his job as an investor and manager in the restaurant industry while Emily focused on smaller side hustles while she toured with TC Superstar, dancing across the country. These weren't the easiest of times for them. Connection was difficult with their different focuses but they each wanted the other to fully commit to their path. After a short time apart in the Covid era, they came back together stronger than ever. This wasn't merely a circumstance, but an active choice to love and support the other. They were each other's home. Emily had always had her kitty, Leo, but in early 2023 Bruce joined the family. Now, they're a sweet family of 4. Two kitties and two humans living in perfect chaotic harmony. It's this expansion of love and family that has lit a fire under the couple. They desire to continue to grow, to love and hold tightly to what means the most to them. They are both so deeply grateful to the friends and family who have supported them along the way. Life can be quite strange and unpredictable but it's love, family and friendship that keeps them going. Thank you for being a part of this journey.
