FAQs

Question

What's This I Hear About a Big Move?

Answer

Yes! Max served in the diocese of Jerusalem for a time in 2023. Now an opportunity has presented itself to return, and we feel called to go together. Lord willing, we will go in September and return to the Boston area about a year later. After the wedding, our next big project will be to get our visas!

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We are registered here on Zola, primarily for cash funds. Though this is not quite traditional, we had two reasons for it: 1. The bride and groom are at an age in life where they have already collected many of the things they need for day to day life. 2. We will be making a major transcontinental move just a few months after the wedding and most of our belongings will be going into storage for a long time. While we might not be taking material things with us, your support is invaluable as we kick off this new stage of life. We've created several pools you can contribute to so that you will know how your gift is being used!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Your invitations will be made out to "Your Name" and "Guest" if you have received a plus one. Please ensure you RSVP for both yourself and your guest. Due to limited space, we cannot accommodate additional guests.

Question

What Happens if I Don't RSVP in Time?

Answer

If we do not hear back by April 9th, it will be marked as "no." We will miss you celebrating with us, however, we have to provide total guest counts to the venue in the timeline they have requested and cannot accept late RSVPs due to this. We hope you understand.

Question

What’s the Dress Code?

Answer

Dressy casual. Wear something festive that feels happy and celebratory! No jeans, please.

Question

Do you have a hotel block?

Answer

Due to the quick turnaround of wedding planning, we were not able to reserve a hotel block. There are however lots of options in both Salem and the surrounding communities.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Parking in Salem can be tricky! Thankfully, it is a walkable town and most garages and street parking are within access of both the church and reception venue. They do have a tendency to fill up fast though: please plan time accordingly when arriving to the church. Church Street West Lot: 15 Federal St. All day parking. Passport App required. Weekend parking fee $2 Museum Place Garage: 1 New Liberty St. All day parking. $1.50/hr Parking is also available along Chestnut St by the reception venue. The venue says to ignore signs that say resident parking only. (I know! But that's what they said.) If need be, the commuter rail is within easy walking distance of the church. Take the Newburyport/Rockport line to Salem station.

Question

What Time Should I Arrive?

Answer

For the Ceremony: We will start promptly at 3:00 pm, so plan to be at the church between 2:30-2:45pm. Make sure you leave yourself time to find parking! For the Reception: You can head over to Hamilton Hall at your leisure following the service. The doors will be open to welcome you. Refreshments will begin to be served at 5:00 pm.
