Loren and Emily met in 2007 through working in the Charlottesville restaurant scene. Loren was a chef at Mas Tapas and Emily was a hostess at Blue Light Grill where they met for the first time. Though they both harbored secret crushes on one another, they simply remained friends for the next several years as one or the other was always in a different relationship. Finally their foundation of friendship paid off when they went on their first date and the two have been inseparable ever since. Emily and Loren bonded over their love games, all things nerdy and fantasy, and their most perfect pup, Mumford. After a few years they moved in together, and then later bought their beautiful home in 2021. Though these two have been in love since long before they even started dating, marriage wasn't part of their plan as it was never something that felt important to them. Then, everything changed for Loren in May of 2024 after a serious injury resulted in a severely broken ankle and 6 weeks of being totally dependent on Emily as he healed post surgery. Though this time should have been extremely challenging for them as a couple, Emily and Loren came out on the other side feeling more grateful for each other and more in love than ever before. Loren then had an epiphany that marriage actually was something he wanted as long as he got to do it with Emily. And Emily, of course, said YES! Now the couple can't wait to celebrate their love with of all their favorite people! It will be a party of epic nerdy proportions that will encompass all of their favorite fantasy genres (Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, Dungeons & Dragons, etc). As a note for their guests, though Emily and Loren love all of the many children in their lives, this will be an adults only occasion, so please plan to leave the kids at home.
