As most of you know, Emily moved to Wales in 2014 to start her new journey to become a chiropractor. It was a big adjustment (pun intended) as she came from a small town in Canada. Luckily, she found comfort in the things she cherishes most, such as working out. She quickly joined a gym (shocker) and it was here she met Lloyd, the local rugby captain, who was working as a personal trainer and class instructor. It didn't take long for Emily to do some digging and ask Lloyd if he had any Valentine's Day plans, in a bid to find out if he was single.
After some Facebook messaging and small talk at the gym, Emily and Lloyd grabbed a drink together (another shocker) and they have been together ever since. Over the past six years, they have enjoyed numerous dates such as mining expeditions in North Wales, gin festivals, delicious dinners, travels to Canada and across Europe, and of course, workouts!
In 2016, Emily and Lloyd travelled to Ottawa for Christmas. Emily wanted to show Lloyd all that Canada had to offer such as Beavertails, snow, and very chilling temperatures. At Hobo Night (a Blue family tradition on New Year's Day evening), Lloyd dropped to one knee in -30C, wearing a wooly toque, Emily's old ski jacket, Adidas sweatpants tucked into his socks and a pair of old boots (see picture on Photos page). Emily proceeded to ugly cry (of course, said yes) and they all drank maple whiskey into the night.
