Things To Do

Magazine Street

Magazine Street

Magazine Street is lined with amazing restaurants and shops. Some of our favorite restaurants along Magazine Street include Saba, Saffron, La Petite Grocery, and Stein's Deli. For those looking to shop, we love Hazelnut, The Good Shop, and Home Malone for local items and art.

City Park

City Park

If you are looking to spend some time outside, City Park is the perfect spot! Joshua grew up just across the street from the park and has many fond memories of climbing the oak trees. We highly recommend walking through the Sculpture Garden before stopping by Café Du Monde for a beignet and a frozen cafe au lait!

Bearcat Cafe

Bearcat Cafe

Bearcat is our absolute favorite place for breakfast. They have 2 locations: one in Uptown and the other in the CBD (closer to the hotel block locations). They have plenty of options for all diets (vegan, vegetarian, gluten free). Emily's favorite is the vegan ranchero or the shrimp and grits, while Josh opts for the spicy chicken biscuit and a stack of their seasonal pancakes!

Parleaux Beer Lab & Bacchanal Wine Bar

Parleaux Beer Lab & Bacchanal Wine Bar

For the beer lovers, stop by Parleaux Beer Lab in the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans. If wine is your drink of choice, Bacchanal Wine Bar is right around the corner and offers a great selection of wine and snacks that you can enjoy on their outside patio while listening to some live music!

Parkway Bakery & Tavern

Parkway Bakery & Tavern

For (arguably) the best poboy in the city, head to Parkway Bakery. Get it to go and walk across the street to find a shady spot along the bayou! Tip: ask for your poboys "dressed" if you want it topped with lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, and pickles (which is really the only way to eat it).

Hot Tin

Hot Tin

A fabulous rooftop bar with some of the best views of the city! Hot Tin is located inside of the Pontchartrain Hotel, which is where Tennessee Williams famously wrote “A Streetcar Named Desire.” And this hotel is located right on St. Charles Avenue, so you can easily take the green street car here!

Hansen's Sno-Bliz

Hansen's Sno-Bliz

If you need something to beat this New Orleans heat, head straight to Hansen's Sno-Blitz on Tchoupitoulas Street for a snowball, which is like a snow cone or shaved ice but better. You can choose from so many flavors, but some of our favorites are satsuma and cream of nector!

Eat Crawfish!

Eat Crawfish!

You're visiting New Orleans at the peak of crawfish season! There are plenty of places to find delicious crawfish, but we recommend Clesi's, Seafood Sally's, or keep an eye out for a pop-up from Southern's Food Truck. And remember that this is a messy dining experience, so we recommend not wearing white!

Live Music

Live Music

When visiting New Orleans, it's not hard to find live music. Whether walking down Frenchman Street or stopping by favorites such as Tipitina's or The Maple Leaf, you are almost definitely in for a fun time!

French Quarter

French Quarter

Walk along the river, eat a beignet at Cafe du Monde or a muffuletta at Central Grocery, explore the antique shops on Royal Street, or grab a drink at the Carousel Bar! If looking for something to eat, steer clear of the obvious tourist traps and head to our favorites like Cane and Table, Palm and Pine, GW Fins, or Galatoire's instead.
