This is a historic antebellum house museum located on the town square. Daniel McCook was a major in the Union Army during the Civil War, his sons rose to military prominence during the course of the war.

Ashton's Ben Franklin Store was opened in 1932 by the late John H. and Evelyn L. Ashton. Since then it's been a mainstay in the community for art supplies, doodads, trinkets and household goods. Check out the vast candy selection to the far left as you walk in. Emily looooves the chocolate covered marshmallows.
