Groom
Emily's plus one, Ryu and Farley's dad.
Maid of Honor
Jade and Emily first crossed paths 12 years ago at a friend’s house rumored to be haunted (though, in hindsight, the mysteriously open cabinets probably had more to do with the fact that only men lived there). Since then, their friendship has grown into so much more. They’ve become travel partners, self-proclaimed fancy restaurant critics, and proud Aunties to each other’s beloved pups: Geographer Brummit, Ryu Elisabeth Young, and Farley Edward Briggs. When Jade isn’t mapping out her next adventure, she’s busy running her floral design business, where she creates breathtaking arrangements. Emily and Jimmy are beyond lucky to have her artistry and her heart woven into their wedding day.
Best Man
Jimmy and Wesley met in Jimmy's first semester at App State. A small conversation about a lighter featuring Warbringer's logo on the side snowballed into a life-long friendship. The friendship proved fruitful for more reasons than one, as Wesley is somewhat responsible for Emily and Jimmy meeting. Wesley told Jimmy that on Tinder, if you "super like" someone, it promotes your profile to be the first one they see. Jimmy took that nugget of wisdom, saved his lone super like until he came across Emily's profile, and that one tip and one match is the reason you're reading this on a wedding website. When he's not pulling Best Man duties or going to a concert, you can find Wes watching any and all types of sports (go Hornets), reading all types of books, but mostly fantasy, or hanging with his girlfriend, Chrissy and their cats, Luffy and Fern. P.S. Ask him about spray-on sunscreen! They don't tell ya what's in it...
Man of Honor
Julian and Emily first met seven years ago when he walked into makeup artist training for their local amusement park haunt, fashionably late of course. Emily instantly knew they were destined to be great friends, and let’s just say the other girl he was getting close to didn’t last long… paving the way for Emily to secure her rightful spot as Julian’s #1. Since then, the two have built an unshakable bond through their shared love of makeup artistry, drag, and being goofy. They even share the same birthday, which might explain why they often seem to be operating on the same single brain cell. When Julian isn’t making Emily laugh until she cries, he’s either creating magic with his sewing machine or living his best life on stage, sometimes with a dollar bill stuck to his greasy forehead during a drag performance.
Groomsman
I guess you could say Jimmy has known Anderson his whole life, and that's because he's Jimmy's younger brother, so it'd be weird if he hadn't know him that long. Anderson and Jimmy grew up separately, but spent countless summers together playing video games, getting on their dad's nerves and finding any reason to say something goofy for a laugh. Anderson is a whiskey aficionado, a passion he and his brother share, so if you want to know anything at all about bourbon, he's the man to ask. When he's not sipping on a nice pour or asking Jimmy to check his local ABC for a deep cut bottle, you can catch him gaming with his friends, getting his pump on at the gym, or hanging out with his longtime partner Bella and their dogs, Scout and Tallullah.
Bridesmaid
Emily has known Ava for nearly 20 years, which also happens to be Ava’s entire life, because she’s Emily’s little sister. Their story began in a hospital room on Long Island when Emily was 9 years old and officially promoted to “big sister.” Despite the age gap, their bond has always been classic sibling energy: playing, laughing, and, of course, plenty of arguing (yes, that includes 13-year-old Emily bickering with 4-year-old Ava. Bad childhood bangs don’t excuse everything). When she’s not busy keeping Emily humble, Ava can be found shredding on her guitar or hanging out with her cat, Beans.
Groomsman
Jimmy and Brooke met in Jimmy's sophomore year at App State when they both joined the stand-up comedy club on campus. After being bullied into hanging out with the larger group at an after-club hang, Jimmy reluctantly realized he had a great time and he and Brooke became fast friends and haven't stopped pitching bits or going to mics together since. When they aren't writing bits or slinging hilarious jokes, Brooke can be found working on a a plethora of craft projects, hanging out with their longtime partner, Michael, or thinking of a new place to hide Jimmy and Emily's Christmas pickle, which is supposed to be hidden on the Christmas tree, but last year ended up in Las Vegas.
Bridesmaid
Emily has known Rachel for all 27 years of Rachel's life. Since Emily was only two when Rachel was born, she can’t exactly remember their first meeting, but she’s pretty sure it went well. Their bond grew over years of shared weirdness, countless family holiday plays (written, directed, and performed by the kids, naturally), and creating comics that were equal parts witty, charming, and inspired by the infamous plumbing disaster at Grandma’s Hilton Head timeshare. When Rachel isn’t perfecting her best “Blue Steel,” she can usually be found slinging croissants or spending time with her partner, Brendon. Side note: Despite the matching last names, there is no relation between the two Smiths on this page. Apparently, VERY common name.
Groomsman
Jimmy and Tanner met in college, and while they were good friends then, their relationship really blossomed when everyone's do: When Jimmy lived on Tanner's couch for three months when he first moved to Charlotte. It turns out, you get to know each other really fast when your bedroom is also the living room of your friend's house. While they were great friends at that time, absence certainly made the heart grow fonder and they became even closer when Jimmy got his own bedroom (and living room!) When Tanner isn't pulling wedding duty, you can catch him climbing literally ANY climbable rock, watching mixed martial arts, duping Jimmy in fantasy football trades, or hanging with his longtime partner Kinsey and their dogs, Charlotte (a 3lb Chihuahua with no teeth) and Ember (a much bigger dog with all of her teeth.)
Bridesmaid
Emily and Shaina first met six years ago in Myrtle Beach on a joint birthday trip for Emily and Julian. From the very first octave Shaina hit, Emily knew they’d get along just fine. Since then, the two have bonded over many shared loves, including dogs (to an arguably unhealthy degree), cool rocks, and, of course, roasting their dear Julian. Any time they’re together is guaranteed to be a loud, hilarious, and unforgettable time. When she’s not on bridesmaid duty, Shaina can be found throwing the ball with her dog Alimo, exploring new places, or spending time with her fiancé, Trey.
Groomsman
Jimmy and Daniel, or simply "Marr" as Jimmy calls him, met in middle school and really became close friends in high school through mutual friends and class. Their friendship was fully cemented when they both showed up to Opposite Day during spirit week in full length sundresses with blush and lipstick to boot. When Marr isn't on wedding duty, you can catch him gaming with his buddies and hanging with his wife, Savannah and their pups.
Bridesmaid
Emily and Jesi first crossed paths in 2015 when they were paired as the hair and makeup team for the same designer during Charlotte Fashion Week. As fate would have it, they later found themselves on the SCarowinds makeup team that same year—and the rest is history. Since then, they’ve shared more laughs than they can count, gone on countless girly pop adventures, and even lived just four houses apart for a while, making some of their fondest memories along the way. When Jesi isn’t busy making someone laugh until they cry, she’s usually spending time with her son Cash, her partner, Zane, and their dog, Molly (or Dolphin, if you’re nasty).
Groomsman
Seth and Jimmy met in middle school and became great friends in high school in "BFS", the weightlifting class offered at Franklin High School (Go Panthers). As fate would have it, they both were accepted to App State in 2014 and decided to be roommates in Boone. That was a decision that would last all four years of college, as they moved from the dorms (Doughton represent) to a tiny apartment with no heat, no A/C, but enough memories and good times to fill a lifetime. (#LP9 Forever) When Seth isn't on wedding duty, you can catch him around Boone hitting the trails, enjoying a nice craft beer, working out, or hanging with his partner, Madison.
Bridesmaid
Michelle and Emily have crossed paths many times over the past 10+ years, but their real friendship began in 2018 when Michelle shoved Emily into a Harry Potter–sized closet with a sewing machine and “encouraged” her to hem costumes for the upcoming SCarowinds season. Since then, they’ve bonded over cozy video games (with each having hundreds of hours logged in Animal Crossing), cycling through new crafts, and, of course, very serious discussions about how incredibly tall they both are. When Michelle and Emily aren’t swapping details on the latest updates to the Hello Kitty Island Adventure game, Michelle can be found spending time with her dogs, Lady and Obi, or grabbing things off the top shelf for her husband, Jarrod.
Officiant
Jimmy met Sunny during his sophomore year at App State. A true ray of sunshine that lights up any room, Jimmy knew they would be fast friends as they spent many days toiling away at scripts (UpLateAppState, if you know you know), that were certainly too goofy to be on TV. Jimmy and Sunny bonded over jokes, a shared love for metal music (Sunny once drove 3 hours after working 12 hours to meet Jimmy at a Slayer concert, somehow found him in the crowd and then said probably Jimmy's favorite sentence ever: "Oh damn, are they playing Disciple? I'll be right back." before disappearing into the pit.), and a love of mixed martial arts. Sunny arguably deserves the biggest props of the weekend, because he is the only one being legally certified to marry Emily and Jimmy. When he's not busy being an officiant, you can catch him at any and all concerts, traveling the world, or hanging out with his friends and family.
Flower Girls
Jimmy and Emily have known these two for nearly five years, and in that time they’ve brought endless fun, laughter, and more hours of Bluey than anyone can count (highly recommend if you haven’t watched). When they’re not busy with flower girl duties, you can usually find them melting down over who gets one of the two identical blue spoons, running laps around the kitchen island, or reaching top speed on their swingy chairs in the playroom.
