Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Emily Smith and Jeffersson Marroquin
Los Angeles has SO much to do. We have museums, tours, theme parks, and way too many restaurants that you'll love. Below are some of our favorite things to do.

Disneyland Resort

Anaheim, CA 92802

We all know Emily grew up as a huge Disney fan. If you'd like to visit the Happiest Place on Earth the week that Emily and Jeffersson celebrate their happily ever after, you're in luck! Disneyland is 45-60 minutes away (traffic depending). If you're on a budget but still want to experience the magic, this is Emily's specialty. Visiting Downtown Disney is one of Emily's favorite activities! Entry is free and parking is $10 for 4 hours with validation from most restaurants. Downtown Disney is right outside the park entrance, so you'll be able to see the fireworks for free! Here's Emily's typical itinerary for when she goes: Arrive around 7pm Dinner at either Din Tai Fung or Ballast Point Brewery (Reservations are recommended, however the brewery has bar seating.) Grab dessert at the churro cart, Salt & Straw, or the confectionary. Watch the fireworks from the park entrance at 9:30. Shop at World of Disney and other gift shops while waiting out the crowds exiting the parking lot.

Universal CityWalk Hollywood

100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, CA 91608

This is another common spot where you'll find Emily, as she loves Margaritaville and Bubba Gumps! Emily often makes a movie reservation at the AMC (this is her favorite location as they have rotating props on display which gives the theater a museum-like feel to it) and has a drink and snack at the bar at one of the many restaurants here. Parking is typically $35 for the day, $10 after 5pm, or $5 with an AMC movie confirmation (barcode for discounted parking will be at the bottom of the confirmation email from AMC).

Heavy Handed

11838 Ventura Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 91604

This is where Jeff works! Heavy Handed serves smash burgers made from short rib, fries, and ice cream. They also serve beer and wine. If you want to visit the location that Jeff works at, please make sure you go to the Studio City location.

Bacari W. 3rd

8030 West 3rd Street, Los Angeles, CA 90048

One of Emily and Jeff's favorite restaurants. Upscale vibe but affordable. They offer a 90 minute open bar option for about $35 with choices from their house wines, house beer, and a few signature cocktails. Food options are small plates meant to be shared. We recommend the steak! Reservations are strongly encouraged as this is a very popular restaurant.

NORMS Restaurant

470 North La Cienega Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA 90048

Emily and Jeff's most visited restaurant. Old fashioned, 1950's style diner. Emily's go to is the Classic omelet and Jeff's is the California omelet. We also love the free refills (and the option to take one to go) on the cold brew! Make sure you go to the La Cienega location for the authentic old school diner feel.

Mariscos 4 Vientos

3000 East Olympic Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90023

Another frequently visited restaurant by Jeff and Emily. Jeff's family has been visiting this restaurant for years, and they have even become well acquainted with the staff. This is a great option if you're looking to get a local Angeleno experience. Some important things to know about this restaurant: They are mostly seafood. The only non-seafood items are on the kid's menu, so if you do not eat seafood, we recommend skipping this one. Please be prepared to wait about 45 - 60 minutes for a table, as it is a very popular restaurant, and for good reason. Portion sizes are large, and prices are low. Please also keep in mind that this restaurant is cash only. They close at 5 pm daily, so we recommend going for lunch. We recommend going with someone who knows Spanish. You will still be able to order in English, but it will be easier with a Spanish speaker. (Let us know if you want to try it! We'll be happy to find a time to join you!)

Getty Villa

Getty Villa Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90272

This is Emily's favorite museum. There are beautiful gardens and views of the Pacific Ocean, as well as ancient artifacts and art, all in a beautiful villa. The museum has items on display from as early as 6,500 B.C. to about 400 A.D. It is a great location to learn about history, or to take scenic photos to commemorate your trip. Unfortunately The Getty Villa was affected in the Palisade's fire in January 2025, so at this time it remains closed. We have kept it on this list in case there are any updates stating that the museum has reopened. We will update our website as new information is provided. In the meantime, The Getty Villa has a sister museum, The Getty Center. While we prefer the villa, this museum is home to impressive works of art and has not been affected by the fires. The artwork spans from the 1400s to present day. Both museums are free admission, with a $20 fee to park if you are driving. Reservations are required.
