FAQs

If you have any other questions than what we have listed here, don't hesitate to reach out to Emily, Jake, or the Burton family. Thanks!
Question

What should I wear?

Answer

While our welcome party is a casual event, our wedding is a festive formal affair, and we are so excited to see our guests dressed to the nines with us! Ladies: evening gowns, nice cocktail dresses, or even a formal jumpsuit would be perfect! Gents: please wear a suit and tie. If you have any questions about attire, don't hesitate to ask one of us. Question

Can I bring my child?

Answer

Unless your child is listed on your invitation, please leave your little ones at home. We love your kiddos, but you deserve a night off too! Please reach out to Emily or the Burton family if you would like a recommendation for a babysitter while you are in town.

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

We will list clearly on your invitation if you can bring a guest. Due to limited space, we cannot accommodate guests that are not formally invited.

Question

What is the easiest way to get to and from the venue?

Answer

For those driving, the venue has a private parking lot for our guests. Otherwise, we strongly suggest using Uber or Lyft. For out of town guests: the venue is located nearby all our suggested hotels. It should not be more than a 5 minute drive to and from your hotel and the venue or welcome party.

Question

Where can I park at the venue?

Answer

We have a reserved private parking lot adjacent to our wedding venue for our guests. The lot is found at the end of the alleyway east of St. James. The alleyway can be entered at Michigan or Wisconsin and you'll be looking for a silver gated parking lot with parking signs with "Emily and Jake" on it.

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before our ceremony starts to find your seat and socialize before we say "I Do." Doors to the venue will close at 4:00pm sharp, so be sure to be punctual!

Question

Is there an open bar?

Answer

You bet! Enjoy drinks on Mike Burton all weekend long!

Question

Is the wedding sober-friendly?

Answer

Absolutely yes! In addition to our open bar, Emily has an amazing signature mocktail for our guests who choose not to drink. We will also provide non-alcoholic beer, non-alcoholic sparkling wine, and soft drinks.

Question

What should I do if I have a food allergy or intolerance?

Answer

Please let us know if you have any allergies or intolerances, we are happy to make the proper arrangements with our caterer for your meal.
