The downtown mall is in the heart of Charlottesville and where the hotels are located. This pedestrian mall is packed with shops, galleries, cafés, restaurants, street performers, and more. A perfect “just walk around” afternoon. And while we are a Virginia Tech Hokie family, we will give credit to Charlottesville for having a cute city to explore.
Nelson 151
Nelson 151 has become a top destination for wine enthusiasts, craft beverage, and spirit lovers. This 25-mile stretch of State Route 151 is home to an impressive collection of Virginia's wineries, cideries, breweries, and distilleries, making it the number one destination for those seeking to explore the best of Virginia wine country. Our personal favorites are: Pippen Hill Farm & Winery, Veritas Winery, Blue Mountain Brewery, Devils Backbone Brewing Company, Bold Rock Hard Cider, Silverback Distillery, and of course where our wedding venue is.
Shenandoah National Park
Shenandoah National Park is a land bursting with numerous trails, cascading waterfalls, spectacular vistas, fields of wildflowers, and quiet wooded hollows. With over 200,000 acres of protected lands that are haven to deer, songbirds, and black bear, there's so much to explore.
Visit Monticello
Thomas Jefferson’s home is a Charlottesville icon. You can tour the house, gardens, and grounds, and often see archaeological digs and behind-the-scenes features.
