What should I expect?

Dinner and drinks at The Freighthouse. Eat whenever, sit wherever, leave whenever! Our event will be held on the "Back Dock" which is an outdoor area. There is overhead coverage in case is starts to rain and there will be fans in case it is hot. This will be a simple evening to celebrate the newlyweds!

What should I wear?

Answer

Semi-formal attire. Dress your best, but no need to rent a tux! Since the event will be taking place in Wisconsin and in August, the weather is very unpredictable. If it is extremely hot, we don't mind if you wear shorts.

Is there anything I should bring?

Answer

Instead of doing a traditional wedding guest book, Emily will be doing a DIY guest book! Each guest will have their own page. If you would like to write a letter to the bride and/or groom, it will be attached to your page in the book. Share your favorite memories, best wishes, marriage advice, or anything else you wish to include. If you have a favorite picture(s) with the bride and/or groom, please bring it to the celebration or forward it to Emily. Whether it’s a recent picture, or a picture from years ago, they will all be a great addition. She will include it on your page in the book! This will create a more personalized touch to the wedding guest book that Emily and Garrett will be able to look back on and cherish forever. In case you forget to bring a letter to the celebration, there will be pen and paper at the event! Otherwise, you can mail it to them afterwards if you still wish to contribute. No need to sweat it:)

Do I need a hotel/where should I stay?

Answer

There is no pressure to stay late, so if you would like to head out early to make the drive home, that is more than welcome. We don't want to make anyone feel pressured to stay late or to book a hotel. But, if you want to stay awhile and don't want to worry about driving home late, we suggest staying at The Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Onalaska. It is about 15 minutes from The Freighthouse, but it is more affordable than the hotels downtown La Crosse. If you are looking for somewhere located near The Freighthouse, there are many convenient options downtown as well.

Where will I park?

Answer

The Freighthouse has their own parking lot which should have more than enough space for everybody. There is also free street parking around the restaurant.

Question

Will I be able to get a picture with the Bride and Groom?

Answer

Absolutely! We will have a photographer there and would like to get a picture with everyone who comes. Please don't leave without getting a picture!
