Our Story

We first met in Physics II class. However it wasn't until November that we became interested in each other after talking together at a worship night at David's fraternity before a large group of us went to Chick-fil-A. David says after this he thought to himself, "Wow, that Emily girl is incredible. I need to get to know her more." Then, suddenly, David started coming to Physics class again, and not only that, he was dressing nice! Next thing you know, he started sitting next to me in class! The two of us would talk and laugh together. That's why David always says when we tell our story, "There was a strong force of attraction between us." After a few study sessions together, I think we both knew that we were interested in one another, but David always says how God confirmed to him that I was the kind of woman he wanted to pursue when I went home after a study session and listened to a sermon he had preached a few months before the night he sent it to me! We had both had so much fun together and loved being around one another, but when I told David the next day that it was clear he had a spiritual gift to preach he knew I wasn't messing around when it comes to following Jesus. After that, David was ready to take me on our first date to the Promise Land, Chick-fil-A! On December 6th, 2018 David and I sat drinking two peppermint shakes. Within the first month of dating, we met each others' families and David had already bought concert tickets to see Ben Rector in Chattanooga in March. Little did I know he had big things planned with lavaliering me and telling me he loved me at Sunset Rock in Chattanooga on March 21st, 2019. Through all of this, God was bringing us together for a great purpose. He has given each of us similar passions and beliefs and a zealousness to walk in obedience to His Word and leading. When David asked me in Disney world to marry him on August 10th with each of our families there, it was the easiest yes I've ever given.
