The Proposal
Dolphin Head Beach, HHI. 3.13.26
A few days after returning from my girls' ski trip abroad, I was looking forward to dinner with friends and catching up. When Mary Kaitlin texted me that our reservation had been pushed back, Connor suggested we take a drive to a nearby beach in a private community that I had talked about wanting to visit for years. Conveniently, he had a parking pass for the community from golfing there while I was away.
We walked along the path for a short time, taking in the beautiful scenery, until I suddenly realized Connor was no longer standing beside me.
When I turned around, he was down on one knee.
It was a moment I will never forget—completely unexpected and the most surprised I've ever been. As I tried to process what was happening, I noticed that the girl who had been casually reading a book on a nearby bench was now holding a camera, capturing every second.
And just like that, I was saying "yes" to forever with the love of my life.
