Check out the attire on the Schedule page. The wedding is 'Black Tie Optional' -- emphasis on 'optional' -- suits and cocktail dresses are absolutely appropriate. Important to note that the ceremony will be on grass so we highly encourage wedges, a block heel or flats. The weather in September can be a bit unpredictable and temperatures will drop in the evening, so we would suggest a jacket or wrap. Friday night will be at the Bay View-Petoskey Country Club and attire is smart casual (no jeans).
Yes! We will have buses on both Friday and Saturday to events from the hotel room blocks and from Bay View. The welcome package and schedule will have exact timings. If in a bind (especially Saturday night), try: - Double Diamond Taxi Company (231) 588-3808 - Up North Rides 231-350-1248 - Jeanette 231-459-6711
The sad answer is no, not really. Sometimes you can get lucky but you really can't bank on it. Which is why we'll have buses! :) Also, everything is in close proximity and possible to walk. Repeating what's in the first question - you can also call a taxi (231) 588-3808 if in a bind.
We love kids but sadly do not have space for them at the wedding. If you are bringing kids and need help finding babysitters, please let the bride and groom or our wedding planner (julie@julieannedesign.com) know and we can help.
I would recommend hitting up Harbor Springs in the morning for brunch and to walk around the cute town. Then, I'd head to one of the fun wineries in the area (Pond Hill, Lavender Hills or Gabriel Farms) - OR, if it's a nice day I would head to the beach at Petoskey State Park. For dinner, I'd head to the Backlot in Petoskey for an array of good food trucks, good beers and the best of vibes. Whenever you have time, I would also recommend taking a walk through Bay View.
Unless you're carpooling or have someone who can pick you up from there, I would recommend it.
