Where do we start?! You can't go wrong on Broadway - but our faves are Honky Tonk Central, Paradise Park, The Stage, Ole Red, as well as Famous and George Jones' Rooftops. Also, Yee-Haw Brewing Company is our favorite post-Titan game stop. Indoor/outdoor brewery with corn hole, Prince's Hot Chicken and craft beer! Then of course, there is Ryman Auditorium and the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Emily and Chase call The Gulch home. Just south of downtown, it was a once-abandoned industrial area that's undergone an urban revitalization that brings an awesome energy to Nashville! A walkable community with many of our favorites including Emmy Squared, Blush Boutique, St. Anejo, Two Old Hippies (Emily's Dad's Favorite!) and Pins Mechanical. And if you dare stand in line - Biscuit Love and the wings mural.
The show that made country music famous! The Grand Ole Opry is always an incredible experience. There are a couple options - a tour of the Opry House location or the actual show - which at this time of year you'll find it at its former home, Ryman Auditorium.
A half-mile stretch along 12th Avenue South called the 12South neighborhood. One of the most walkable neighborhoods in Nashville, 12South is a shopping and dining destination full of restaurants, coffee houses, bakeries, bars, and boutiques featuring local designers and makers. Our favorites are Mafioza's, Edley's BBQ, Jeni's Ice Cream, Frothy Monkey Coffee Shop, White's Mercantile and Draper James.
Radnor Lake State Park is a 1,368-acre park and is protected as a Class II Natural Area. It has been a favorite of Emily's for years - her and Chase went there on one of their first dates. Great hiking and/or walking trail. And you never know - you may spot Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman like Emily and her parents did.
Downtown Franklin is a vibrant blend of historic preservation and modern sophistication. Just 14 miles from Nashville, you’ll find an oasis of Southern hospitality housed in a 16-block historic district of award-winning antique shops, brick-and-mortar gift and book stores, fashion-forward boutiques, privately owned art galleries, lovingly restored homes and more. It's also home to the Franklin Theater - where Emily surprised Chase with tickets to see It's A Wonderful Life during their first Christmas season together.
