Emily and Chad met the first day of freshman year at Pitt - however, only Chad remembers their first encounter. Chad and Nancy were in the elevator moving boxes into the dorm when Emily walked on to the elevator. According to Chad, he made a joke that had Emily laughing and the rest was history. Just kidding. The pair formally met a week or so later at a dorm orientation. They lived on the same floor freshman year, hanging out, studying in the lounge and attending parties with other friends. Emily and Chad remained friends throughout sophomore and junior year and it wasn’t until the two spent 7 months in different countries (Chad in Barcelona Spring semester, Emily in Barcelona over the summer) that they realized maybe they liked each other a little bit. They dated throughout senior year. After graduating, Chad moved back to Philly and Emily stayed at Pitt to attend Pharmacy school. They survived 3 years of long distance at which point Emily moved to Philly. They moved in together enjoying city living and time at the shore with Chads family. They of course traveled the 300+ miles back to Pittsburgh on a regular basis to see Emily’s family and friends. Ask the couple anything you need to know about the Pennsylvania turnpike. On one of their weekend trips back to Pittsburgh, Emily’s friend (and MOH) asked them to go to a Pitt basketball game. This was all a trick to get Emily on campus. On 2/8/2020 Chad proposed Pitt’s campus with the dorm where they first met in the background - and she of course said Yes! After 10 plus years, surviving quarantine and buying house together, Emily and Chad cannot wait to party with everyone on 10-15-2021!
