We want to assure you that all state guidelines are being followed to provide a safe and comfortable setting for our wedding during COVID. We will have masks on hand for those that want them and will also have hand sanitizer available. The barn is spacious, the outside patio is expansive and fresh air is coming from the 360-degree view of the mountains. We understand that this is a difficult time for everyone but have decided to move ahead with our wedding date. We appreciate your love and support and hope to see you on September 12. Much Love, Emily & Brian
Traveling the country for work, I was off to Boise, ID for the week. While I was traveling alone, I knew a few coworkers would be in the area to do some exploring with. It didn’t take long for a small group hike to be arranged. We all met at the agreed upon spot and Brian introduced himself with a big smile. He was so cute and funny, I immediately had a crush. We began our hike which quickly turned into climbing down an old ladder, into an extremely dark cave. While I wasn’t thrilled about this, I wanted to look brave. As I began climbing down, I was getting very, very nervous. Once everyone made it down, we began walking away from the little glimmer of light the ladder into the sky was offering. The further we got, the more terrified I became. Brian saw an opportunity he couldn’t pass up and scared me by sneaking up behind me and screaming. I immediately began running for the ladder. As I’m running, I hear Brian laughing saying he got it all recorded on his GoPro. Boy was I glad he now had this embarrassing video of me to watch. Once we all climbed out of the cave, we piled into my car for dinner. When we finished, we all went our separate ways. I was hoping I would see Brian again that week, but sadly, that never happened. The work week ended and I was heading for the airport when I received a text from a number saying “I left my GoPro in your car, can I meet you at the airport for it?” (We still argue to this day if Brian did this on purpose - I think so). We met at the airport and before we knew it, we had been talking for hours. He was so funny, I don’t think I ever stopped laughing! We had just met and I really did not want to say goodbye, but we had our separate flights to catch. Knowing he was from Nebraska, I wasn’t sure if we’d ever see each other again. A few days later, Brian reached out to me and that was it! We began traveling to see each other as often as we could. We moved to Denver, got a puppy named Henry and are getting married!
In Oct. of 2015, I was traveling to Boise, ID for work. I knew Emily and some coworkers would be in the area, so I brought up the plan to get together and all go hiking. A few days later, 4 of us met up and drove together to checkout the Kuna Caves, outside of Boise. I immediately thought that Emily was really cute and was excited to hike with her. We began on a 4W/D road, making high centering a car a huge possibility - especially with Emily driving. I offered to drive through the difficult terrain, which Emily quickly accepted. We finally got to what we thought was a trailhead and saw the top of a ladder sticking out of a small, dark hole in the ground. I decided to go down first with the rest of the group following me down. The cave was 1/4 mile under ground and very narrow. The further we got from the ladder, the darker and colder it became! I could tell Emily was getting nervous as we were venturing further into the darkness. I had just met her and thought what better way to make a good impression on her then to scare her?! I made sure my GoPro was recording, snuck up behind Emily and yelled. She screamed and began running towards the ladder. Her fear became the laughter and amusement for everyone else in the group. Now that I think about it, I feel a little bad for scaring her.. oops. Later that week, I realized I left my GoPro in Emily’s car and texted her asking if I could grab it. We met at the airport and started talking. I really loved how sarcastic she was. With her living in Chicago and me in Nebraska, I thought it would be difficult to stay in touch but knew I had to pursue her! Surprisingly, it was very easy. The everyday texts turned into fun phone calls. We quickly began traveling to see each other and went on dates in places like New Jersey, New York, Los Angeles, Malibu, and Omaha! I asked her out on a hike in California and the rest is history. I cannot wait to call her my wife, I truly could not be happier!
