We understand that a destination wedding asks a lot from our guests. We wanted to give as much time as possible for financial accessibility and to secure a passport.
Bobby and I visited Cancun together for the first time in 2022 and it quickly became a special place for us. We stayed at El Dorado Royale and chose this resort for our wedding because we loved it so much.
Yes. Tourism is a major revenue source for Mexico, particularly in Quintana Roo state, prompting the government to enforce robust security measures for traveler safety and to sustain tourism. Emily has now visited Cancun twice, and traveled alone one of those times, and never once felt unsafe. Like anywhere you travel, we recommend following basic travel safety guidelines.

A deposit of $100 will be required to secure your room, by October 31, 2025. After the deposit is made, you can make any additional payments at anytime. Full balance is due by January 2, 2026. We encourage you to book your room early to ensure your preferred room type and location is available. Booking early also allows for the option of a payment plan. You can head to "The Resort" tab on our website or head straight to https://www.ourdestinationweddings.com/emilybobby to pay the deposit.
As soon as possible. We encourage you to book your room early to ensure your preferred room type and location is available. Booking early also allows for the option of a payment plan.
No. We understand that there are a few more steps involved in our RSVP process and we really appreciate your time and patience. We ask that in addition to paying your $100 room deposit (found on "the resort" page of our website) that you also RSVP as well by heading to the RSVP page of our website.
We will be monitoring room rates consistently with our travel agent to make sure that we have the best rate possible for our guests. If you see a cheaper rate on a site like Expedia or Booking please let us know ASAP and we will work with our travel agent to get that price honored by the resort.
We strongly encourage all guests to stay at El Dorado Royale with the wedding group and would love to have you at the resort with us for the weekend. If you choose to stay somewhere else, each individual will be required to purchase a guest pass to access the resort for the day of the wedding ($100+). Please note wedding guests staying off site will be individually responsible for coordinating transportation to and from the wedding and the purchase of required guest passes.
Yes! This is an all inclusive resort :). Please note flight is not included.
Your $100 deposit is refundable with an e-mailed cancellation 7 days prior to October 31st, 2025. You can make any necessary changes until October 31st, 2025. After this date, all changes are subject to a $75 change fee, all reductions are non-refundable, and name changes will incur a $250 fee, if approved by the resort. Late payments may be charged a $25 penalty for every 10 business days overdue. The hotel reserves the right to cancel any bookings not paid for according to the due dates outlined above. If you have any questions or concerns, our dedicated Travel Experts are just an email or phone call away at guests@ourdestinationweddings.com | 844- LOVE- ODW or (844)- 568-3639.
That’s ok, it happens. Please still book your room through our travel agent booking website and we will work on confirming the room for you, however, inventory and group rates will be subject to availability.
Yes! You will absolutely need a passport to travel to Mexico. We decided to have our wedding in 2026 to give everyone plenty of time to secure a passport as we recognize this process can take some time. We strongly recommend that you get/renew (if necessary) ASAP. You can find more information here: https://www.usa.gov/passport
Yes, we ask that you book your stay through our travel agent booking website (https://www.ourdestinationweddings.com/emilybobby) in order to be a part of our wedding group and to receive the discounted rate. Please do not book through the resort website or any other booking site. Our travel agency is completely free for you to use. If you have any questions or issues booking through the booking website, please reach out to Carol, our travel agent, she is here to answer any and all travel/ booking questions you may have to make the booking process as stress-free as possible. Please note as mentioned before, that this resort requires all guest rooms to be booked within the couple's room block.
Travel Insurance is available through our travel agent at time of booking your deposit. While we recommend travel insurance, it is fully your choice. You may also choose to book your travel insurance outside of our travel agent. The Travel Insurance that is available may cover you up to the total trip cost for trip cancellation or interruption for a covered reason and up to 75% for any reason (this Cancel For Any Reason Benefit only applies if you add the travel insurance to your package within 14 days of booking, not available for the state of NY). Emergency Evacuation/Repatriation, Accidental Medical Expenses and Sickness Medical Expenses may be covered up to $25,000. Also included is baggage protection and worldwide emergency assistance. It is a cancellation/interruption insurance with medical benefits. Your health insurance may not cover you outside of the US. For a brochure detailing what is included, please email guests@ourdestinationweddings.com. The cost for travel insurance is based on the cost of your trip, starts at $125 per person. For an exact quote, please email the travel agency. Travel insurance for each guest is due in full upon booking and is immediately nonrefundable.
Round trip transportation to and from the airport will be applied to each reservation by our Travel Agency for $180 per couple. **Please note that single travelers will see a charge of $180 as this is the standard shuttle price for 2 people. Once flight itineraries are put together, anyone that does not have a "solo" shuttle will be refunded as they will end up on a shuttle with another guest on the same arrivals and departures. Otherwise, since the cost of the entire shuttle (round trip) is for one passenger, the cost is $180. Most single passengers don't end up on their own shuttle and will be refunded the difference.**
While we love all of your kiddos, we are limiting kids invited to the wedding and reception to immediate family only due to space limitations. You are however welcome to bring your kids and anyone else to vacation with you at the resort. Please note that within the resort there are 3 parts: El Dorado Royale, El Dorado Casitas, and Generations. All three parts are connected and fully accessible to anyone over the age of 18 regardless of where you stay. Children however are limited to Generations as it is the family portion of the resort.
YES! All drinks & meals are included! As stated all adult guests are welcome to use the restaurants at all parts of the resort. With over 20 restaurants to choose from there is something for everyone. Part of why Bobby and I loved this resort so much was because it is considered a Gourmet Inclusive meaning that food quality is their top priority. We are excited for you to experience it!
There are plenty of activities to keep you busy at the resort, included are nightly shows, fitness classes, tequila tastings, tennis courts, snorkeling equipment, and too many more to list (all included with your stay). For those wanting a more relaxing experience, there are plenty of pools and beach space to give your brain that much needed rest and relaxation. Don't worry about getting up when you get thirsty or hungry as there are pool side bars/smoothie stand/grills where you can order your favorite cocktail or afternoon snack!
While tipping at an all-inclusive resort is not mandatory, we highly encourage you to consider bringing extra cash (recommended to bring small bills) to tip restaurant staff, bar tenders, housekeeping, and spa staff during your stay. Tipping at an all inclusive resort is not at all like tipping in America - no need to ensure you're giving 20%. Often tip a few dollars here and there. Make sure you call your bank before you leave and let them know you will be in Mexico in case you need to purchase anything with credit/ debit cards.
