Things To Do

New Orleans is a city like no other, and it holds a special place in our hearts. From the neon glow of Bourbon Street to the tranquil grounds of Audubon Park, there is truly something here for everyone. We hope you will enjoy a few of our favorite spots to eat, drink, and play around the city!
District Donuts Sliders Brew

District Donuts Sliders Brew

2209 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70130
, (504) 570-6945

This is one of Emily's dad's favorite spots! His favorite things to get at District include the cinnamon roll, the miso praline bacon and egg biscuit, and their cookies. With multiple locations throughout New Orleans, District is the perfect spot to grab breakfast or a sweet treat!

Gracious Bakery

Gracious Bakery

4930 Prytania Street, New Orleans, LA 70115
, (504) 300-8135

One of Austin and Emily's go-to breakfast and coffee spots when they lived in New Orleans. Gracious is a great place to go for a cup of coffee and a pastry, or light lunch. Some favorites include: the cheese biscuit, everything bagel, and croissant.

City Park

City Park

1 Palm Drive, New Orleans, LA 70124

The spot of our "official" first date, and where Austin had planned to propose. This 1,300 acre park has everything from paddleboarding to a dog park. The Singing Tree, a huge oak with windchimes hanging from its branches, is the perfect picnic spot. Also, be sure to check out the New Orleans Museum of Art and Besthoff Sculpture Garden, located in the park.

Barataria Preserve

Barataria Preserve

6588 Barataria Boulevard, Marrero, LA 70072

One of the most unique things about Southeastern Louisiana is the natural environment. Exploring the wetlands of the Barataria Preserve, you will forget you are only half an hour outside of New Orleans. Keep your eyes out for gators!

NOLA Brewing Co.

NOLA Brewing Co.

3001 Tchoupitoulas Street, New Orleans, LA 70115
, (504) 896-9996

Great for an afternoon stop, the NOLA Brewing taproom offers a great selection of beer, snacks, and live music. Come by on Friday or Saturday from 2-3 p.m. for a free brewery tour!

Parasol's Bar and Restaurant

Parasol's Bar and Restaurant

2533 Constance Street, New Orleans, LA 70130
, (504) 354-9079

Austin's favorite po-boy shop in town and a great spot for lunch if you're planning to window shop on Magazine St. Make sure to order the firecracker shrimp!

Ba Chi Canteen

Ba Chi Canteen

7900 Maple Street, New Orleans, LA 70118
, (504) 373-5628

Tied for one of Austin's favorite New Orleans restaurants, Ba Chi serves fresh and unique takes on Vietnamese cuisine. His favorite dishes are the chicken spring rolls, kimchi fries, and any of the bacos (Vietnamese tacos).

Shaya

Shaya

4213 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70115
, (504) 891-4213

One of Austin and Emily's go-to date night restaurants, Shaya serves modern Israeli cuisine. Their fluffy pita bread is the perfect accompaniment for labneh, baba ganoush, and fried chicken hummus.

The Sazerac Bar

The Sazerac Bar

130 Roosevelt Way, New Orleans, LA 70112
, (504) 648-1200

Sip on America's first cocktail in its namesake bar, located in the beautiful Roosevelt Hotel. Grab a drink here before exploring the historic French Quarter.

Snake & Jake's

Snake & Jake's

7612 Oak Street, New Orleans, LA 70118
, (504) 861-2802

Another one of Emily's dad's favorite spots! He loves to visit Snakes because he can bring his two best friends, Gracie and Casper. If you love seedy dive bars, Snake's is a must. Ask the bartender if you can order Peeve a shot, it's only $2 and all proceeds go to canine-related charities!
