Tucked in the Sicilian countryside near Brucoli, Commenda di San Calogero is a restored 14th-century estate surrounded by citrus groves, olive trees, and views of Mount Etna. Once a monastery for the Knights of the Order of Santiago, it now blends historic charm with serene beauty… from peaceful gardens to timeless stone architecture. We fell in love with its quiet elegance and the way it captures the heart of Sicily. It’s a place that feels both intimate and magical, the perfect setting to celebrate with all of you! Fun fact: The estate was rebuilt after a massive earthquake in 1693 and still preserves traces of ancient tombs dating back to the 9th century BC. Transportation: Pick Up: Pick up will be at 4:45 PM from Parcheggio Molo Sant’Antonio, about a 10–15 minute walk from the center of Ortigia. This is the closest location accessible by bus, as vehicles cannot enter Ortigia. The bus will depart promptly at 5:00 PM, so please arrive on time. Return: There will be two return departures from the wedding at 1:00 AM and 2:00 AM (Cake cutting will be around 11:30 PM.) If you need to leave earlier, staff will be happy to help arrange a taxi.
