Flying to OAX from the US

The city of Oaxaca has an airport just outside the city, OAX. This is an international airport with direct flights from Houston, Dallas and LA. For those coming from the US, the easiest way to arrive will be to fly with a connection in one of those three cities. If you are unable to connect in the US you will likely be making your connection in Mexico City. In that case, make sure to give yourself ample time for the connection: we suggest at least 1.5 hours but preferably 2 hours or more. We suggest this amount of time because the passport control lines can get really long at times, and if you need to check a bag or if your carry-on gets checked at the gate, it is normal for checked bags to take an hour to come out at luggage claim. Upon arrival in Oaxaca you may take a taxi from the airport to your hotel. Please keep in mind that Ride Sharing services are not available in Oaxaca. Upon arriving at the airport, we recommend going to one of the two taxi stands inside the airport. You will tell them how many people, your hotel information, and if you want a shared ride or a private ride. Once confirmed, you will get a receipt and take it outside to either the yellow and white or blue and white company who will provide you a cab. - There are two companies a yellow and white and a blue and white - The shared ride is about $7 per person to a hotel in the city center - The private ride is $25 total to a hotel in the city center. Viajando desde Ciudad de México

Para aquellos viajando desde la Ciudad de México, la manera mas fácil de viajar a Oaxaca es volando al aeropuerto OAX. Ya que queda a las afueras de la ciudad y se puede tomar un taxi del aeropuerto al hotel donde se hospeden.

Hotel Quinta Real - BLOCK FULL

We were only able to get a limited number of rooms for the room block, so if you want to stay at the hotel we would suggest booking ASAP. Once the room block is full, there are a ton of boutique hotels. When looking at these we just ask to book one within walking distance of La Quinta Real as the transportation for the wedding is from this hotel and the welcome party is a block and half from this hotel. There are two ways to make a reservation, via email or phone. Below is the email address and a template email to send to make the reservation. If you prefer to call, the phone number for our hotel contact (Luis Ramirez) is provided below. If you don’t hear back within a week of the email please follow up with Luis.  INFORMATION - - The room rate should be $5,450.00 MXN + 19% TAXES/night (about $325 per night) - The hotel is two stories, so if you prefer first or second floor you can make that request.  - When reserving the room, you can request a king bed or two queens  - Once Luis responds he will ask for credit card details to confirm the reservation. He will then provide an email confirmation of the reservation - We are asking people to get in no later than 3pm on Friday as the welcome party will start around 6pm.
