We're getting married ...

Our story began in the early hours of 12 May 2024, around 2am inside a bar in Hackney. We discovered we were both heading in the same direction home, and after a spontaneous coin toss to decide whether Emilia would join Chris in the cab—despite having never met him before—or stay out with others, fate stepped in and we left together. It was a cold night, so Chris lent Emilia his hoodie for the journey home. After the cab ride, Chris got out first, leaving her with the hoodie and telling her that if he ever wanted it back, he’d need her number. What followed were two weeks of nonstop texting before our first official date in London on 25 May 2024. From there, everything fell into place. Endless messages turned into long phone calls, and we squeezed in as many dates as we possibly could, never quite wanting the conversations to end. By January 2025, we had moved in together and begun building a life side by side. It was on a beach in Thailand, on Emilia’s birthday (4 December 2025), as the sun set around us, that Chris asked Emilia to marry him. Thankfully, she said yes.
