Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Our Mass begins promptly at 12:30 pm, so we ask that you plan to arrive and be seated by no later than 12:15 pm. You are welcome to start arriving as early as 11:45 am. Thank you for being on time! Guests arriving after the Mass start time will not be able to be seated.

Question

Do I have a plus one?

Answer

Most guests have an optional plus one. If you want one, you certainly have one (but only one). Please just indicate how many guests are attending with you when you RSVP!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

To show respect and reverence for God, we ask that our family and friends dress in appropriate cocktail attire. Men are encouraged to wear suits and women are encouraged to wear knee-or tea-length dresses. Please do not wear jeans or white. We truly appreciate you dressing up to celebrate with us!

Question

What is the parking situation?

Answer

At St. Patrick there is a church owned parking lot on the east side of the St. Patrick with free parking. There are two pay-to-park lots (at a rate of $2 for the first hour and $1 per hour after the initial hour) owned by Columbus State Community College. One is directly across Grant St. on the west side of St. Patrick. The other is directly adjacent to the church owned lot on its north side. There is also street parking around the church that is regrettably pay to park as well as the City of Columbus likes to squeeze the little men for all they’re worth. At the Gahanna Sanctuary, There is a small private lot on the south side of the building as well as a public lot next door, on-street parking around the building, and the Creekside underground parking garage just a block away. All parking is FREE!

Question

What is different about a Catholic wedding?

Answer

The Catholic wedding ceremony takes place in the context of the Mass, which is the representation of Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the Cross. When we administer the sacrament of Holy Matrimony, we unite ourselves to Christ's sacrifice. We ask that you please keep cell phones put away and silenced. Also note that communion is only intended for Catholics in full communion with the Church, since we believe that the bread and wine are transformed into the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. You are welcome to approach the priest with your arms crossed in front of your chest during the communion procession if you would like to receive a blessing!

Question

Is there an open bar?

Answer

We will be providing beer and wine. If you would like to enjoy anything else to drink, please feel free to bring it with you!
