FAQs

You have questions, we have answers
Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire.  Ladies should wear cocktail dresses, and the gentlemen should wear a suit and tie or a sports coat

Question

Is there parking available for guests at the venue? Is it free?

Answer

Yes - the Hawthorne Hotel has two parking lots located directly behind the hotel. Parking is free and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. If the lot is full, there are several public lots within walking distance of the hotel.

Question

Can I bring a date? How about kids?

Answer

We have a strict guest list to stay under maximum capacity at the Hawthorne Hotel. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

What should I do if I can no longer attend?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony will be starting at 4:15PM sharp. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before the ceremony so we can get the party started on schedule.

Question

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will be held at the Hawthorne Hotel. The entire event will be indoors.

Question

What kind of weather can I expect in Salem in March?

Answer

New England weather can be a bit of a crapshoot in March ranging from frigid cold temperatures and heavy snowfall one day and mild spring-like weather the next. Our best advice it to keep an eye on the forecast and plan for the elements.

Question

What should I order if I have food allergies or dietary restrictions?

Answer

All of our menu items can be customized to accommodate food allergies so feel free to order whatever meal you desire. On your RSVP card, please note the allergies you have with your meal selection and we'll be sure to pass that information along to the catering staff. For those who are vegan or vegetarian, please select the Coconut Curry option on your RSVP card.

Question

What if my question wasn't answered here?

Answer

Please send an email to Patrick (patrick.helmes@gmail.com) or Christie (ceemigh@gmail.com)
