Laura & Emi fell in love through exploring DC--especially its food--in the pandemic aftermath of 2021. While Emi is DC born & bred, Laura had moved to the city on March 1, 2020 to start a new job in a new place--only for the city to shut down 12 days later. Being two of the four people working from their office in the quiet days of 2021, they became fast friends. With Laura wanting to get a belated start on discovering the city, they passed time after work visiting pop-up outdoor restaurant patios, nobly striving to keep DC's incredible food & cocktail culture afloat--one Negroni & espresso martini at a time. Rock climbing, backpacking, and backyard grilling became equally beloved pastimes. Eventually, it became clear that there wasn't just mutual love of these activities, but of each other's wit and adventurousness. Laura proposed on September 29, 2024 at the top of Annapolis Rock--despite Emi's best efforts to suggest they go biking instead, and the forecast of rain. We are thrilled to celebrate our love & next chapter with you all this fall!
